Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Submit the resume anyway. First of all the worst they can say is "no." But something a lot of people don't consider is that by applying for the job you let the hiring authority know you are interested in more than your current position. So it could get you somewhere in the future. I say let Willie apply. Even if he gets the job, I am sure he will throw you a bone. 🤪

Well poop about their response to you about the job. Hard to get the experience without someone giving you the opportunity to get it.

Doesn’t make much sense does it? 🤔

Yeah I’ll definitely be sending it in. The only issue with me advancing within the company, is there aren’t many opportunities locally. I could easily relocate to other areas of the country (we have multiple yards in every state but Wyoming) but the wife and I decided we don’t want to leave the area because of family. Also my step son’s father and his family are local. Kind of leaves me stuck waiting.

Keep your head up. Opportunities present themselves in strange ways and when you least expect it. I have learned this from experience!

4 pages behind, and NOT ONCE did I read Willy got an extra treat today?! What gives!?!?!?!?!

GO for the job it is the only way you can get what you want. I took that leap a few years back and it changed my career. Was told by direct supervisors that I would never get the position, come to find out it was because I was competing against my boss. Guess what I got it! So go for it! A clean shave and a splash of veg* will guarantee it!.

*probably don't use veg.

Saw on FB that your AC went out! Sorry to hear that...it is definitely the wrong time of the year for that to happen! Why can't they go out in fall!

Shave Time!

The Catching Up Edition

Razors:
Razorock HD, Razorock Game Changer .84p, Colonial Razors Aluminum General
Brushes: Ever-Ready Mystery Badger, WWBS Jingle 2 Band Badger
Blades: Parker, Kai, Feather Pro
Soaps: Mickey Lee Soapworks The Kraken, WSP Blackbeard, Stirling Spice, WSP Barbershop
AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue, WSP Blacbeard & Barbershop, Stirling Spice

Used some stuff, shaved some hair. Some notable thoughts on this week's shaves: The RR HD stands up to the Game Changer, only falling slightly behind in efficiency and I may have found my new travel razor. I started a slightly different lathering process and also began using a little more water. My shaves have really improved and become much more consistent. I actually got 3 BBS shaves in a row this week. That never happens! I've only had a handful of BBS shaves total up until now, so I think the lathering trick has really helped me turn a corner.

In Other News...
Well as some of you know, my boss is leaving the company and her position has become available. I put my resume in earlier this week, only to find out the next day that they already have replacement...oh well lol. The good thing is now the regional manager knows that I'm looking to advance, so if anything else opens up in the area I'll hopefully be on his radar. I was a little disappointed to find out that I wasn't getting the promotion, but I kind of knew that my chances were slim anyway so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Saturday our AC broke at home. A friend of mine is an HVAC technician so he came today to look at it. Thankfully after replacing the capacitor, electrical contactor (I think), cleaning the coils and replacing the fuse that kept blowing, we have AC again! Hopefully this gets us at least through the season, but my buddy said the condenser unit seems to be in good shape so we might be able to get a few more years out of it.

Willie World:
Willie is very, very happy that the AC is working again! So are Ozzy and Lucy lol. I felt really bad for these guys, but in all honesty we were probably more uncomfortable than they were haha!
