Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Bummer about the real estate deals. I kinda figured people don't go looking for a house until they have a loan secure.
Our process was a bit wonky too; especially as first time home buyers with little down. I mean you technically pre-qualify for a certain amount before you start hunting, but even once you find a place, there’s still so many hiccups that can happen or things that can fall through the cracks.

Shave Time!

Razor:
Razorock Game Changer .84 (with Stirling DE3P6 stainless handle)
Blade: Parker
Brush: Stirling Kong Synthetic
Soap: WSP Barbershop
AS: WSP Barbershop

First spin with the new Game Changer and.....wow. Now I understand what the hype is all about! I stuck with all the same gear from yesterday other than the razor so that it would be the only variable. I forgot how much I liked the Kong Synthetic brush. Whips up a great lather. I originally planned to do just a 2 pass WTG/ATG shave since today was 3 days in a row of shaving. Usually by this point I start to get a bit of irritation and could benefit from a day off, but I couldn't resist. After the first pass I knew that this would be more than a 2 pass shave simply because I didn't want to stop shaving! The razor is so comfortable and paired very well with the Stirling handle. There is very little blade feel, just enough to let you know if you need to make an adjustment and back off, otherwise super comfortable in that respect. I could see how that could be dangerous, but I know not to get overly aggressive and managed to avoid any mishaps. I was able to get myself DFS+ again today, which isn't common for 2 days in a row. Usually I have to take a day off in between to get this close to BBS.

The fit and finish on the razor itself (including the Bulldog handle it shipped with) were top notch. It definitely has a higher quality feel to it and has the brand, model and serial number etched into the underside of the baseplate. Pretty cool. I can't wait until I get the Barberpole handle for it to complete it, but the Stirling handle fits nicely and it's actually very well balanced on that handle. It also came with a nice leather carrying case which I wasn't expecting.

I definitely don't have it totally dialed in yet, which is exciting. If I was able to get that good of a shave with it on the first use, than it's only going to get better with time. I think I'll be sticking with this razor for a while to get it dialed in, but also because it's just that good!

The real estate deal that fell through is now tentatively back on track, but extended out until September. Fingers crossed! Also showed the house next to mine yesterday which is exciting. It's been empty since we moved in 6 years ago and is finally on the market. I showed it to an investor client and he seems very interested as long as he can make the numbers work. I'll be glad just to have someone in the house instead of it being empty.

Willie World:

Willie helped bring the Phils some good luck last night and they were able to snap their 7 game losing streak, and pick up a game on the Braves!

The GC makes another convert! I actually like the way the Stirling handle looks on it; classy.

Now, no sabotaging the potential buyers of the house next door if the buyer is someone you don’t like! :p

Shave Time!

Razor:
Razorock GC .84P
Blade: Parker
Brush: Stirling Kong Synthetic
Soap: CBL Iron Throne
AS: Avon Spicy

Second go with the GC and I'm still impressed. This thing is just smooth. I'll probably continue to use this exclusively for a while. It's treating me very well!
Went with CBL Iron Throne today, not to be confused with Iron Thrown...As always @CBLSoap.com is top notch and the Stirling Kong really whipped up an amazing lather. Great combo!

Not much going on otherwise, just another Wednesday. Gearing up to get into Tim Taylor mode for this weekend so I can finally get the bathroom done. If anyone has any tips on installing shower tile, vinyl plank flooring, or vanities, I'll gladly take them! LOL

Willie World:
Not much going on with Willie either. Just enjoying the warm weather!

Just watch a few YouTube videos and you'll be an expert. Back in the day when I redid a bathroom I had to read web pages to be an expert

But from your videos it looks like it payed off. Nice job
Well, we paid for this one. I redid a bathroom back in the 90s. But was pretty proud because I replaced a tub with a shower stall, added shelving in the extra space, a pedestal sink and chair rail with wainscoting. All from just reading online and watching Norm Abrams.

Sounds like you earned that hard hat (y)

I redid my kitchen and bathroom. Completely stripped them, new floors, drywall, paint, custom cabinets and counter tops, new appliances.... Even worked on building the cabinets and counters, and broke my nose drilling the hole to install the sink cabinet....
Unfortunately, although I'm a lot closer to you than Dave is, I am not free this weekend. Actually helping to assemble another counter top.

Besides..... I don't think you could pay me correctly. I would require pizza, but I don't think it would be the right stuff from there.
