Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

Somebody call Willie Protection Services, we have a snuggle violation!

Hope the first day back isn’t too much of a doozy Steve! Any chance of the office hosting a Spring Training for the local teams? :ROFLMAO:

So. After a bit of a crazy day I'm finally able to post all this stuffs. Tuesday's shave was average. A DFS as usual. Nothing fancy. Today I went for a strictly Stirling shave. The reason why is, I got a very timely response from Rod about my boar brush. He told me that they will actually comb out their badger and synthetic knots before they box them up so they can eliminate as many loose hairs as possible. They do not do this with the boar knots because of how brittle the hairs are when dry (which a few of you guys mentioned to me in my post complaining about this brush). He said it should stop shedding after about 12 uses give or take, but occasionally you'll get a bad knot, and if it still persisted to let him know right away so he could make it right. Well I guess his email scared the knot into shape because it lost one hair over the last 2 uses! So I guess I just wasn't patient enough with it, but now it's performing great and not shedding.

Last night I got to do something really cool. A good friend of mine is a high roller at one of the casinos in Philly. We jokingly call him a degenerate lol, but he really does spend a lot of money at this place, which naturally gets him certain perks from time to time. So last night the Phillies #1 ace Aaron Nola was doing a meet and greet and a short live interview with the Phillies media director. Unfortunately he wasn't signing anything so I went and bought a brand new baseball for nothing lol. But I still got to shake his hand, tell him how awesome he is, and wish him luck this season.

Tomorrow is opening day, and for the first time in a while the Phils are opening at home. We decided to bite the bullet and spend some money on really good tickets. We're pulling Anthony out of school so he can come too. He never misses, plus his shop teacher told him he's calling out to go too so...they really can't say anything haha! Really excited about this team and for the season to start.

Willie World:
It's been starting to get warmer here and Willie is loving it. He's even been faking needing to go to the bathroom just to go for walks to get out and sniff around! Not sure if he's excited for baseball, but I'm sure he's excited for laying on the couch and watching Sunday afternoon games!

Great stuff! We only have a AAA team here and they are a lot of fun. I love going to the ball park. With business travel I have been to NYY, Fenway, and Wrigley. Love being at the ball park. But don't really have a favorite team to be honest.

Our Triple and Double A affiliates are both within a few hours of here but I've yet to get to either. There was an unaffiliated semi pro team just outside of Philly that was basically a Single A equivalent. Always a ton of fun at those games!
Fenway and Wrigley are both on my bucket list. Those places are baseball cathedrals.
Who is the Triple A team an affiliate of? They should be your favorite team!

The Angels. So I saw Mike Trout before he made crazy money. Been to a few Angels games too. And due to name recognition I do root for them. But when I met Ortiz at Fenway his last season that was something special. We were there because my uncle who is a colonel was being recognized. I think I'm just a baseball fan if that makes sense.

Makes total sense. I’m also a baseball fan in general. That’s pretty cool that you were able to see Trout in the minors! We were all a little disappointed out here when he signed that contract extension. We really thought he was going to come home in a few years.

Today is Opening Day and for the first time in a while, the Phillies are opening at home. So I figured It was only fitting to use up the rest of my Barrister and Man Diamond sample. It’s supposed to smell like a baseball field or stadium. But I get Zero baseball scents from this soap. Either way it was fun. I seem to have a hard time lathering samples in a bowl, but I figured out today that I haven’t been adding water at the right time or rate. Today was an improvement.

I also went with a 2 pass attempt on the barber straight. I need to figure something out with my angles because after 2 passes (WTG & XTG) I felt like didn’t remove any hair. So I ended up doing my usual 4 pass DE shave after. I walked away DFS so I can’t complain.

We made it to Opening Day today for the 5th year straight. Man what a way to start the season. Aaron Nola went 6 strong innings. McCutchen, Hoskins, and Franco all homered. Hoskins was a grand slam! Bryce Harper didn’t do much but played to the crowd very well. He needs to start performing, but otherwise he’s fitting right in. I’m so happy baseball is back.
