Razor: RR GC .84p
Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword
Brush: Stirling Synthetic
Soap: Siliski Soap Appalachian Forrest
AS: Stirling Barbershop
I think I’m done with the Gillette WS blade. Just doesn’t seem to be a good fit for me. Oh well, at least I know I don’t need to buy a 100 pack!
The soap is a new to me that was only used once. Definitely not in my wheelhouse. It’s a very juniper forward with pine coming in strong at second, and something I couldn’t quite nail down as a third scent. I’m not a huge pine or juniper fan unless it’s mixed with something else I like. Whatever this is mixed with wasn’t my favorite smell lol. I’ll give it another shot at some point and see if it opens up differently, but this one might not stick around.
In Other News…
I leave tomorrow morning for a guys trip to the mountains. It’s an annual trip a good friend of mine sets up every year, but this will be the first time I’m actually able to make it. It’s referred to as the Cabin Trip, but we’re really staying at a vacation rental on a lake in the Poconos in PA. More luxury than roughing it, which I’m totally ok with. We’re evolved, we don’t need to sleep outside. The wife isn’t thrilled because 2 days after I get back, I have to go stay in North Jersey for 5 days to help out at a branch up there. She was all about me doing the guys trip until she realized I’ll be gone for 8 of the next 11 days. She gets it though. She even made 2 trays of ziti tonight to help feed me and the boys this weekend

He’s got a mani/pedi scheduled at momma’s work tomorrow. Little punk has to be sedated just to have his nails cut

I’m sure she could tell you exactly how many hours it was. She had to deal with my cranky, stressed out butt the entire time! I didn’t think it was fair to put you guys through that, but she signed up for it hahahaha

They are very other week. Mainly because it takes @Majorrich 2 weeks to recover and be in his true colours.

Whew. Been a while since an update but…
Shave Time!
So from last Wednesday through this past Monday I was out of town for work and used the same kit throughout. Trusty Fatboy, Voskhod blade, Stirling Synth, CBL Oud Minerale, and Stirling Barbershop AS. The water at the hotel was pretty rough, but I was able to get a decent lather with a little bit of extra work.
Being away from the branch and catching up on things here since Monday has been a bit of a whirlwind, so I just stuck with the same travel kit this week. All in all some good shaves. No complaints here.
In Other News…
As I mentioned I was in Sayerville,NJ which is what I consider to be North Jersey (right next to New Brunswick where Rutgers’ main campus is). Others consider it Central NJ. I maintain that Central NJ is like Mr. Rodgers’ Land Of Make Believe…it doesn’t exist. I was up there to assist with training at a new facility we just acquired. Wasn’t a bad trip but I’m not rushing to go back either lol.

The last few weeks Willie was a little wobbly and having a hard time getting up. This always gets us concerned as it could potentially lead to another back surgery. Luckily this time he seemed to have bounced back with strict rest and anti inflammatories. He’s back to his usual pillow humping self!
