Straight Shave:
I’ve been pretty busy with work and haven’t updated the journal in a few days. A lot of nice shaves were had and the Wilkinson Sword is still going stronk!
My sister’s bf sent me a few soaps he either wasn’t really using, or has an in to replace at almost no cost. First up was Southern Witchcraft’s Necromancer. A nice sweet floral scent. Not something I’d use everyday but still pleasant. The performance on the soap holds up with any other top tier soap I’ve used. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for an everyday scent from them.
Second was Razorock’s What The Puck Blue. I had an issue getting the lather to the right consistency, but I think it was user error. The scent on this is fantastic. Not sure how to describe it, but I like it a lot.
The PAA Starcraft brush was sent along with the soaps, as he had 2. Apparently when he initially ordered it, it was lost in the mail so they sent a second one out. One day they both showed up. So here we are lol. The brush is nice and performs as well as any other synthetic. The handle is nice in hand, and has a somewhat retro look to it I think.
I also received this on Friday:
I pulled the trigger on this Tony Miller Steerhide Plain Vanilla last week. It. Is. Nice. Really quick draw on the leather. The craftsmanship is superb. Couldn’t be happier with it. So naturally I had to have a straight shave yesterday. It went well aside from a misstep on the chin while planning out my attack on the next stroke. I didn’t realize how close the razor was to my face and when I moved my hand to adjust, I put a nice 1” slice in my chin. It sealed up quickly though. Otherwise, I still need to work on my angles and technique, but I’m still progressive. Even after not straight shaving during the One Blade Challenge.

Another lazy weekend in the books.
