Steve's Journal: The Saga Continues....

My dad just sent this to me. Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™ve posted this before, probably not because I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever found it online.

My Grandfather (dadā€™s dad) was on the game show Iā€™ve Got A Secret on Halloween night 1956. His ā€œsecretā€ was that he cut actor Steve Allenā€™s throat. The funniest part of this is the fact that Steve Allenā€™s wife at the time, Jayne Meadows, was on the panel of celebrities attempting to guess his secret. His ā€œsecretā€ is explained at the end of his segment, no murder attempts were involved [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23].

What a great thing to have the episode available. I watch youtube for two things. Shaving videos and 1950s game shows. I've Got A Secret is one of the best! A carton of Winston's!!

Shave Time!

Razor:
Rockwell 6C Plate 6
Blade: Wilkinson Sword (14)
Brush: Stirling Synthetic
Soap: WSP Mahogany
AS: WSP Mahogany

Back to good soap today! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ I have to say I did notice the difference in slickness between the WSP and the Modern Williams. Williams is by far the slickest stuff Iā€™ve ever used. I also noticed a much better post shave feel with the WSP though. All in all, Iā€™m glad to be back to a little bit of variety for the time being. I also walked away BBS, no asterisk needed, so Iā€™ll call it a win!

Willie World:
Not much going on this weekend in the life of Willie. Just a trip to grand mom and grandpopā€™s yesterday and some couch time. Life is good!

Put in a full day in the yard at work yesterday with some of my crew. Weā€™re just about caught up from all the snow weā€™ve been getting. Now if we can just stay on top of it...
Hereā€™s a nice picture of beautiful snowy NE Philly from Friday:

Razor:
Rockwell 6C Plate 6
Blade: Wilkinson Sword (15)
Brush: TSC 2nd Anniversary ā€œThe Wizardā€
Soap: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked
AS: Oz Shaving Co. Wicked

The Wilkinson Sword is still going stronk! I think the blade is an even better match in the Rockwell on plate 6 than it is with the Game Changer. BBS 2 days in a row with not a sign of an asterisk. This has never happened to me before. No weepers either, and I usually get at least 2 or 3.

Corporate sent a guy to the branch to give me Branch Manager Training...almost 6 months after I took the position. After talking to me for about an hour and running down the day to day responsibilities, he quickly realized he probably doesnā€™t need to be here. But, maybe Iā€™ll still learn something new. If nothing else, I have an extra body to help out for a week!

I've never had a Wilkinson Sword go stronk, is that a good thing? :p

My favorite blades, that's what I'm using now, they last a long time and are buttery smooth and very efficient. (y)

Lots of good shaves this week and the Wilkie is still performing well. I think maybe I'll swap razors again when I shave later today and see what happens.

The Sorrentino Caramel Swirl is absolutely stunning! Thanks @Smattayu ! The handle is comfortable to hold and the knot is very soft with plenty of splay, but not floppy. I'm not sure what brand or type of knot this is other than it's a synthetic. Pictures just don't do the handle justice, as the resin really pops when the light hits it. Eric had also mentioned that he felt the knot was set in the handle a little lopsided, but I can't see it.

The Shave Heaven Sensuous Sandalwood is a nice scent, but the soap was a little on the dry side. That was probably my fault for not throwing enough water at it, but it still provided a nice shave. Pythian Way is interesting, although I'm not sure exactly what the scent is. This lathered up a little easier than the Sensuous Sandalwood for me.

All in all a week of great shaves!

Willie World:
Looks like a weekend of couch time and maybe starting a new show on Netflix. That's perfect for him, as long as someone brings some snacks!

Training went well this week and was mostly just a refresher for me. I did learn about some reports and weekly/monthly inspections that need to be scanned into our online filing system that haven't been getting done. In my defense, the last 2 managers weren't doing it either so I didn't even know these things existed. All easily fixed though so no worries.

We finished Nightstalker on Netflix this week (the Richard Ramirez story) and it was pretty good. Now to find something new to start...

Thanks for the kind words, Steve. Iā€™m glad you like the brush. I could never get a lot of scent from Pythian Way, but I do love the performance of the Paladin soaps.

I love the brush! Thanks again Eric.

As for the Pythian Way, I found this on the interwebs:
Pythian way; Lillium, Woods, Vanilla
