Mitchell’s Wool Fat
Feather AC SS Kai ProGuard

A fairly uncommon Sunday Shave. Next week is forecast to be unseasonably hot, so starting out with a pretty good shave today and saving on the ol’ money maker. Arrived home yesterday with absolutely no incidents and found the local produce stand has just gotten their first sweet corn of the season! I am tickled silly about that. Had pork chops and corn for our welcome home dinner. I stepped on th3 scales an$ found I only gained 6 pounds on our 4 day vacation.

The Feather is a wonderful consistent open blade razor and the two pass shave was predictably DFS. Followed up with Pinaud Citrus Musk. (Another seldom visited frag. It needs more love!)

It turns out Italian Cutris is based on Acqua di Parma Colonia. That explains why it smells so familiar. This is the old formula soap and aftershave. Presumably both made in Germany. When I get low, I presume they will still have the Italian production soap, which is quite excellent. Heck! I just may get some to be sure I dont run out it smells so good. At least to compare the aftershave to the original.

Cold water face lather shave making an effortless BBS. Lathered using the “Spider Technique”. Used the puck much like a Speick stick and face lathered from there.

Too danged hot to cut grass. It’s also kinda hard on the grass in this heat. I’m giving it a pass until Monday when this hot spell is suppose to break. Besides, when it’s this hot, it’s hard to get motivated. So my plan is to sit on my behind and watch cowboy shows in the A/C.

Off Handed One Handed shave today.

Had some minor surgery on my right hand yesterday. Minor, but still painful and debilitating. I tried soaping without lathering and one application was sufficient for all the passes I needed. Problem was with being able to properly handle the razor, and get everything mowed down properly. Rinsing with one hand proved to be quite difficult. I have a travel sized can of goo that I will try for the next shave. The confluence of the wound mending, and the reduced residual of the factory spoo might make for a bit easier shave. I have no illusions as to the quality thereof.IMG_8615.jpegIMG_8616.jpegIMG_1170.jpeg

King C Gillette Shave Gel
Rockwell Model T2

Another Left Handed shave. I had planned to try some canned spoo, but being unable to open the can, brought out the gel. A mild setting coupled with a new Wizamet made this a super mild and smooth shave. The gel doesn’t rinse off the blade well with cool water. And it hangs around well for multiple passes. I needed to rinse off with a towel as one hand simply could not remove the schmoo.

Removed the dressing from my hand this morning. Simply couldn’t abide another day. I’ll just need to be more careful to keep things clean and dry.

Harry’s Foaming Shave Gel
Schick 5 bladed thing

Tried to do a proper lather this morning and gave it up as a bad idea. So wend for another brushless option. Completed the package with the Schick 5 bladed thing. Did one pass and got a pretty ok shave. At least I don’t feel like a hobo. This product does seem to dry out my skin, but would be ok for emergency use I suppose.

I get my stitches out Wednesday and should be able to get the hand wet after that. Still have no strength and can’t curl my fingers more than halfway. But it doesn’t hurt like it did. Of course only 6 days have passed.

Pinaud Clubman aftershave (214 years in production!)

Got my stitches out yesterday and they said I can gently wash my hand. I’ll be able to get it actually wet in a few days after the holes close. I keep trying to use a brush, but it’s still painful when pressure is applied to the incision. So I simply smeared the soap on my face and pretended I was washing my hand.

I was able to make some passes with the right hand, but probably will be another week or so for full time shaveage. Two passes to a pretty good shave. Have a happy and safe weekend as we celebrate our freedom.

Watched Minions 3 today and I joyed it pretty well. There were a lot of kids in the theater, but they were well behaved. Plenty of Easter eggs and adult level humor snuck in through the movie. Very enjoyable!

Williams Mug Soap
DFET By Rum
Gillette Aristocrat / Wizamet

Now that I have my stitches out and it’s been a couple of days, I’m thinking it’s ok to let my hand get wet so long as i’m not soaking it. Still painful to press on the incision site and that’s exactly where my brushes like to rest when I’m lathering. I decided to do the Spider soaping technique without trying to lather. Williams is stupid slick like this so it provides a great shaving condition. Only problem is in keeping track of where I shave and/or miss.

Keeping careful track of where I shave is easy enough if I’m sure to overlap and go from zone to zone in a methodical manner. Only a small re-application was required for the second pass. Finish up with my special Dog-from-Every-Town Bay Rum. A pretty darned good shave in 2+ passes.

Attended my High School 45th reunion yesterday and have to admit I’m aging much better than most of my classmates. But my mind couldn’t recognize more than half of those people. And my class was pretty small (about 80) of which 16 have passed away.
