Rich's Journal: Adventures with Life and Sharp things

Spouse unit said she smelled me as soon as she entered the house. Yes my brothers, I was “that guy” today. But she also said it wasn’t unpleasant. Sounds like a cry for TABACAVEG
So what you’re saying is you want it to be unpleasant? You actually want her support for the Corvette right??

Razor: Occams Razor - Blackland Vector
Soap: DragonsBeard Ethos Fresh Lime
Scuttle: Face Lather
Strop: Griffin
Brush: Razorock 400 Synthetic
AS/EdT: DragonsBeard Ethos fresh lime skin food splash

Comments: ok... it was bound to happen. I love my Vector, but I love my Occam. Who is the Alpha razor? So... tonight, they face off. Two razors, one face. Left side Vector, right side Occam. Will I feel the difference? Three days in on the Corvette and im making repairs to a very poorly designed center armrest, and gluing a new headliner. I went through all the trouble codes on the ECM and goth them all clear. Momma drove the car a bit around the neighborhood but never got past 2nd gear. 😂 It should be ready for cruise-ins pretty quickly. I’ve already been invited to a corvette cruise-in. Mine may not be the nicest, but it’s the best I’ve ever had!

The Hardware: Both razors are champions in different ways. The Occam is a touch smoother, the Vector is a bit more ‘violent’

The Software: Ethos Fresh Lime is no doubt a great soap to do a side by side. Perfect slickness and cushion. The optimal surface for a show-down.

The Shave: Side by side, it was hard to tell the difference by feel. I think perhaps the edge on efficacy may go just a bit to the Vector. But I have many more laps on the face with that razor. Momma‘s subjective feel up says they are the same. so this round the Vector ahead by a nose.

nice Shave Rich I am doing the same shootout as well, and initial impressions are Vector leading, but not willing to declare a winner just yet need to get more miles on the "Lord Commander"

That’s a neat channel! Subscribed. Hobos are a pretty rough crowd I’m told. But this man is articulate and seems pretty well edumacated.

Ya, not what you would expect at first sight. In one video he did mention he had Asperger’s and some autism and he enjoyed the constant motion of the train.

Razor: Gold Dollar GDSW59
Soap: Pannacrema Nuavia Blu
Scuttle:
Strop: Griffin
Brush: Omega +2 badger brush of lathering
AS/eDt: Dickinsons Witch Hazel

Comments: Here’s a Razor that hasn’t been unleashed in a while. This bad boy looks like something a Klingon Warrior would use! It does sport a full grind and a substantial feel. Just looks like a Batlif. The Corvette is in the shop getting tires put on it. Geeze Louise! a bit of sticker Shock. Each tire has its own part number because they are unidirectional and the rear tires are larger than the fronts. So no rotating. Thankfully I don’t put a ton of miles on a car any more so they should last a good while. The old ones were cracking on the edge of the tread. Something the mechanic said could be disastrous at highway speeds. And no spare.
Normally I would have recorded this shave, but had son befuddleness in getting things set up so went full send on a regular shave.

The Hardware: Prior to the shave I spent a good ten minutes on the jNat and then 50/50 stropping. Muted the point to reduce the chances of gilling myself. I’ve chunky scales on these razors are bothersome, it serviceable. The edge is smokin’ hot. This particular model has a truncated edge, so it shaves a lot like an AC class razor in coverage respect. The offset between the tang and the spine initially took a bit to get used to, but caused no problems

The Software: Pannacrema...

The Shave: There is really no reason other than they are in their own (rather large)boxes that don’t fit well in the razor drawer this razor doesn’t see more use. A pretty good shaver, but I’ve got a ton better. Probably why I don’t think about it.

All my tires are unidirectional: They only go in one direction at any given time (forward or backward)

One-Way streets: But officer, I'm only going one way. 🤪

Razor: Blackland Vector / Frather Pro
Soap: Tabac
Scuttle: Captains Choice
Strop: Griffin
Brush: Omega Boar
AS/eDt: Good ol’ Old Spice

Comments: Tabac hasn’t received a lot of attention of my soap usage and has been getting some love on the Forum. Gotta dive in. The Vector felt a little different and then I noticed I was using a Feather Pro Blade.

The Hardware: Proven hardware. Except it felt a bit different. Noticed late in the shave I was using a different blade than usual. No worries.

The Software: From other discussions about the cadre, I learned Tabac is the stand-out European take on an Oriental Fragrance. Old Spice is the American standard. The soap performs excellently as expected, and when the two fragrances were brought together they played quite well off each other. This one is pleased. Called an audible. Did not use the edt.

The Shave: Three passes for a serviceable shave. Plenty smooth, but nicked myself and irritated my jawline a bit. Still, I was putting steel to my face and that’s what it’s all about!
