4 Feb Comes a Game Changer

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Razor: Razor Rock .84 Game Changer
Soap: Proraso Cypress Vetyver Cream
A/S: Fine Fresh Vetyver
Brush: Sterling Kong Synthetic

That’s right my brothers it has arrived and I am totally digging it! The postman brought my Gamechanger over the weekend and I am beside myself with excitement. How can a razor bring such excitement you ask? Well, my friends let me tell you. I don’t know..... But I am super glad to add a modern premium razor to the rotation and this is the inaugural shave.

Fit and finish of the razor are without peer. Something only obtainable with CNC technology. Everything fits as it should and the gaps are even as expected. I got a butt weighted handle with the “radio dial” handle, shifting the balance of the razor slightly down the handle, making it pretty neutral with my grip.

Proraso cream soaps are very predictable with their performance in my water and with the Kong brush I cruised to an easy DFS+ shave in 3 passes. A hint of irritation along the jawline and neck that I expect as I become familiar with this razor. It does have adequate blade feel. Enough that you have to pay attention to what you are doing. I don’t feel it would bite hard, but it sure could let you know when you are not keeping your head in the game.

I think I stepped into dotage this morning. Got all ready and drove myself to Physical therapy, only to find that my appointment isn’t until tomorrow. So now I am sporting a small bruise on my forehead from a palm strike. At least it’s a pretty sunny day for the drive. And to think that two days ago it was cold as can be and snowy.

Well I guess there are a few modern things that are worth while ?

Which safety cat is that?

Glad you found a modern you really dig Rich. Their fit and finish are unreal !! Got me curious about the game changer .84 now. I may investigate this summer. Had a .68 but preferred my Timeless to it.

Excellent report Rich! Glad the GC suits you. I thoroughly enjoy my .68 but still wanting to get a .84 (I know I’ve been saying that a while now).

Glad my first Cadre-wise enablement wasn’t a complete failure

Went in looking for Thayers, came out with a pack of Parker’s..

I think I need to lodge a complaint with Target. My closest one never has Thayers Medicated, the Thayers they do have are in the feminine product isles, they only carry regular Dickenson’s, and that and the generic witch hazel are in the first aid/ointment section. Get with the times Target!

6 Feb Game Changer Trials Continue

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Razor: Razor Rock .84 Game Changer
Soap: Stubble Buster Coastal
A/S: Stubble Buster Coastal
Brush: Omega Boar

Coming back to Stubble Buster on this Springlike day in Central Ohio. Raining like crazy last night and today with my sump pump going alarmingly constant. Definitely like the feel to this soap. Stubble Buster is a good to great performer and certainly one I think is definitely one of my spring and summer frags. Definitely thinking on trying an alternate method to lathering like Josh and using a sprayer with distilled water and glycerine, with a bit of something acetic to counteract the hardness of my water.

The GameChanger on the second use again rocks my world! After getting used to it, I am definitely going to compare it with my Techs and the Crat as to its feel. Even (can't believe I'm thinking it) the 'Jectah is in jeopardy of losing it's crown! I remain a dedicated vintage Gillette fan, but OMG this razor is great!
