Ok.. I was weak. I pulled the trigger on a Gamechanger. I’ll have to sell a straight or two now. I got the .84 figuring the .2mm difference will be nearly undetectable.

A .16mm difference you mean?

Congrats all the same! It’s a great razor! I’ve still yet to try the .84, but I do love the .68!

Email came! It’s on its way! I may try the Assured blade in it. But not on its maiden shave.

No shave today, but posting from the great white tundra of Ohio. It was 5 degrees outside this morning and we got some 8 inches of snow. Finally a chance to deploy the snow blower. Alas, it started, then the throttle lever came loose in my hand, so had to tear it down in the garage and re-assemble the darned thing. It took several ten-minute sorties into the cold to get it together before blowing out the driveways. I know tomorrow will be in the 40’s, but it’s a matter of pride. Should be near 50 come Sunday. It feels like we are cycling between midwinter and spring all through the past month or so.
Hopefully my Gamechanger will arrive tomorrow for use in the one blade challenge, elsewise will start with a Slim.

This weather is crazy Rich! We got about an inch or so today, and Tuesday it’s supposed be almost 60. Hope that game changer shows up soon!

Yeah...we are going to be in the 70s today...we were in the 30s the other day. Southern Louisiana has some pretty dramatic temp changes this time of year...but this is more dramatic than usual. Glad you got the snow blower going...I remember shoveling a driveway a couple of times and that sir is no fun!

We got a couple of inches Friday in Pittsburgh, but streets are clean now. Warmed to 40 deg today, supposed to go a bit higher tomorrow.

Good reading, Rich.

Feb 2 Single Blade first shave

Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Soap: B&M Hitchhikers #42
A/S: Same
Brush: Sterling Kong Synthetic

To open the Month of February I had intended to use the Game-Changer that I was supposed to take delivery of yesterday. It did not arrive til this afternoon, so I started with an alternate, a slim Adjustable. This really made for an enjoyable contrast with the Assured system I have been using, save for one shave the other day. I do so enjoy these razors. I took a bit of extra time to clean and lube the workings of this and several other of my Gillette collection. They all are capable of the additional quarter turn on lockup, save the longer handled Super-Adjustable.

The B&M Base provides a very good lather with my water. With the familiar petunia-like fragrance that makes this a very nice spring/summer soap. It is quite strong from the puck and on lathering.

The shave went without incident and after 3+ passes, I achievied a near-grail shave. I faceturbated most of the day today, and the GameChanger arrived in todays post. I very much look forward to introducing myself to it.

It feels great to do a journal entry! I've been exclusively vlogging for too long, it's time I remedy that now that my fingers work better.
