Okay the cat has a skull on its chest! What kind of biker gang is that?!

Got a page behind but caught up now. Back on the 6th you showed a photo of some probiotics and it reminded me of what my doc said. He said the gut flora we carry with us is somewhat unique person to person because it is ultimately a result of our own diet. He went on to say that if you have eaten a very sugar and starch heavy diet the gut flora are conditioned to “want” that same diet and they will actually influence your cravings should you reduce your intake. So, not only do our brains desire the sugar but the gut flora does too. He said the flora took years to develop in the kind and composition you have so changing the composition by changing diet alone would take years too. By taking “pre” and “pro” biotic supplements you are able to force change to occure faster. Providedyour diet is different while taking the supplements you gut flora will change composition over the course of several months...eventually resulting in a mojority of flora that doesn’t crave sugar but craves what ever you altered diet is. He said more and more hard evidence is pointing toward the pre/pro biotic being a significant health consideration. He even went on to say the ‘treatment’ of gut flora is being considered more and more important to achieving the best medical outcomes....then he began to describe the potential for gut flora transplants for severely ill people, boy am I happy I am not severely ill.

I would do the transplant, as long as they took the colo/rectal route for infusing the culture, like during my colonoscopy that will be scheduled for next month.

I have noticed I don’t really even miss most of the foods that are outside the diet. Excepting rice, which has been a staple to my diet all my life. I think when I ease into maintenance mode I may have some occasionally. Meanwhile, I have a 50 pound bag sitting in the pantry.

Too bad you can't make soap out of rice Rich. Great shaves, and I am off to see your Kami video.

Too dang hot to shave today! Willing my whiskers forward to a very satisfying three day shave. Meanwhile practicing with plastic cutlery for a possible ambi pass with the Kamisori.

Good luck with the Kami Rich. You are now motivating me to get mine out to take for a spin.

Oooohh...an ambi shave from a single winger! Is this, I dare ask, going to be something on video for us to watch!?

Dear Lord, man! You're going to lop off an ear of something trying all those funky grips with the kamisori. I only used my right hand and always positioned the blade towards the ear (outside) and the handle towards the nose (inside). It doesn't matter that it is said to be designed for "stamps out." Unless you have hired a barber, the grips are too awkward to follow that mantra. Use whatever grips feel right.

I took up the traditional Kamisori a couple of years ago, and I am full aware of all of the arguments for, and against, keeping the Omote against the skin. I understand that there are a plethora of YouTube videos showing Japanese barbers shaving customers using a Kamisori who violate this rule. In my mind, the Japanese Kamisori is made in two different types, the right handed, and the left handed, and this is done to this day. If I had one of each, then the shave would be a piece of cake. I only have right handed Kamisori, and I chose to learn to shave with it using my right hand only keeping the Omote against the skin. It was very awkward, and took a considerable amount of time to learn. But now I can get as good a shave with a Kamisori as I can with any Western straight.

In the end, to each their own. Your razor, your face, your choice.

Free entry on account of my recent operation. Today I’ve been feeling very ragged and needed to shave badly so I went to Mr. Hendershot‘s barbershop for a Shave. I forgot to shave for Mr. Heather shop so this is his first try at my face but he’s been saving people for a very long time and said that he gave David Crockett his first shave. I have to say that for $10 is the best say if I’ve had in several days. I’m going to post this note my iPad put it out so you guys can guess is that what I really said. Space my hand is healing up pretty good but my fingers are all swollen and don’t move very well I’m not supposed to be driving but I did anyway because I was all itchy. And will try to incorporate in later shave is the hot tub preparation I’ve not done hot towel and is found it to be a good way to get a smooth say. Gosh this is really funny what the iPad is saying I’m saying at least I got this part pretty correct. Face he doesn’t do it very much and was smiling a lot when I left. I hope that several of the people who are waiting got a chance to see what our tree shave looks like oh my goodness I’m going to have great fun posting this.

I don’t know what kind of soup he was using I did recognize the aftershave as being Osage rub. I will probably have a couple more shave with him before I am able to shave myself again. There is another barber who goes to work her but I’m not sure he still does Shea is at his fir shop anymore. I think he said he would let me bring my own razor if I wanted so that will be interesting.

How Megan

Work Ha. Well that’s about it for for today’s entry so I will just post this as it is to the shaving cadre. Have a great day you guys Rich and of note

I'm not sure if it's totally appropriate that your barber is eating soup while you're in the chair, but to each their own.

Funny stuff Rich! I think we get a good idea of what's going on. Hope things aren't too rough for you for much longer.
