Got a page behind but caught up now. Back on the 6th you showed a photo of some probiotics and it reminded me of what my doc said. He said the gut flora we carry with us is somewhat unique person to person because it is ultimately a result of our own diet. He went on to say that if you have eaten a very sugar and starch heavy diet the gut flora are conditioned to “want” that same diet and they will actually influence your cravings should you reduce your intake. So, not only do our brains desire the sugar but the gut flora does too. He said the flora took years to develop in the kind and composition you have so changing the composition by changing diet alone would take years too. By taking “pre” and “pro” biotic supplements you are able to force change to occure faster. Providedyour diet is different while taking the supplements you gut flora will change composition over the course of several months...eventually resulting in a mojority of flora that doesn’t crave sugar but craves what ever you altered diet is. He said more and more hard evidence is pointing toward the pre/pro biotic being a significant health consideration. He even went on to say the ‘treatment’ of gut flora is being considered more and more important to achieving the best medical outcomes....then he began to describe the potential for gut flora transplants for severely ill people, boy am I happy I am not severely ill.
