Quijote's search for BBS

Just a quick stop by to say that I hope you have all been doing well. We went to Freedom Fest tonight. They do a huge celebration on the Saturday before the 4th.
 
Thanks everyone. I really just got lucky with that shot. I was laying back in the chair and angled my phone in the general direction and hit the button.

Part of the reason that I have been so busy lately is that I have been clearing out the area that is going to be my workshop and learning a few new techniques for joinery.
 
Oh, and all my shaves have been great. They have all been with the slant, shovelhead or injector because my strop is still out of commission. I think I may end up having to buy another. So it will be a while before I do my next straight shave, which is a shame because I haven't had a chance to use my Tridente yet. The CMON I got is going to have to be restored because it is worse off than it looked in the pictures. There is some surface rust on the edge and some other odd scratches on it. It may be beyond my current abilities.

Today, it's a hot one around here, so I wanted to go with a cold shave since I had to work outside this morning. And being Independence Day, I had to use all American products. So I decided to go with this setup. I should have bloomed the soap, but I didn't, so it took longer than normal to load. Once I got the brush loaded though, it easily turned into a wonderful lather. It was slick, protective and COLD. After 3 passes (and 1 on Elijah) or faces were BBS smooth and nicely chilled.

No need to buy another strop, Don. I didn't realize you had only the one - PM me your mailing address and I'll glady send you a PIF strop to get you back up and running.
