Quijote's search for BBS

That is a lovely handle! Love the various artisans we have at our disposable in this hobby! I honestly chuckled at the mowing story since it sounded like a shaving. How many passes does the lawn mower need for a BBS lawn?

Great looking brush Don...Steve really does good work. Good shave as well, and glad to read that it wasn't that nasty stomach bug that was going around!

I'm thinking I should have went for a 3 pass mowing. I tried to cut off to much and burned it on a couple of spots. I should have known better. Take off too much at once and you get irritation.

Today, I got out of the shower and had 10 minutes to get shaved before I had to get the kids up. So, a quick shave was in store.

Tech - Nacet (10)
Sorrentino Tuxedo
Prorasso SB Cypress and Vetyver
LT VC / Prorasso SB Cypress and Vetyver ASB

I still used a bowl to build my lather, and got a good one pretty quick with this combo. Then the tech moved across my skin quickly. Each pass was taking a little less than a minute, so I squeezed 3 in and ended up with a BBS+ shave with everything cleaned up and put away in 11 minutes. I did have one dot of blood that was the size of a pin head from using too much pressure on the corner of my mouth that went away with the cold water rinse. Other than that, it was perfect. I was one minute late waking up the kids. It worked out. The Nacet is still going strong at 10 shaves. I am very impressed with this blade. And I am feeling great with the salve plus balm.

A la Mancha, the little dude is doing better. Still tired, but no more signs of sickness. I got word yesterday that my father-in-law is coming to stay with us for a week starting this weekend. We have to drive up to Kentucky to pick him up on Saturday, and come back the same day. He's a good guy, just raised differently than I was. This will be the longest amount of time I have ever spent with him though. My only concern is that we are both set in our ways.

Nice shave Don...quick too! Glad to hear that the little'un is starting to feel better. Good luck with the FIL.

You know, I was thinking about your quick shave and the beginnings of all of us for DE shaving and whatever else followed. And just how it's cool that at one time, just getting a good shave without tons of burn with a DE was something we were working on and now all the choices there are. One of them being picking up an ole simple DE and knowing you can whip out a quick shave if you need to.

Yeah, if I would have done that when I first started, I would be a bloody mess with patches of stubble sticking out. It really is amazing how much better it is now. I mainly notice the huge improvements after adding another type of razor into the mix. That being said, when are you getting your injector? You know you need one.

After I buy SV's recent release. Those injectors don't look like they can cost more than 19.99 anyway.

Nice looking brushes Don!

Glad it was nothing serious with the little one!

Great quick shave!

Today, I wasn't really feeling the straight razor, so I went with my newest toy, the 'Jectah! After making the lather, I discovered that it is a good thing I did because my mojo just was nonexistent today. I for some reason couldn't get the lather where I like it, so I just called it good with a close, but still too airy lather. But, once shaving, the troubles seemed to disappear. I got 3 passes in with the injector, this thing is too easy, and ended up with a BBS+. It could possibly be ranked in the G range, but I am knocking points off of myself for not getting the lather right. If there was any irritation that was thinking about popping up (never did), the Lucky Tiger kept it at bay. I finished off the morning with the last of my Fine Platinum sample. I am going to have to put this scent back in my den, but how I do it is something I am debating. I used to knock Fine due to the lack of skin care that it had, but my Vanishing Cream now gives me all the skin care I could possibly need. I basically use aftershave to give me a scent. Taking that into account, I am debating buying the aftershave from either Fine, Stirling, or Floid Black, which I hear is also a great version of this scent. The other option since I do not need the skin care any more would be just to get an EdT. If I did this, I could go with the Fine or wait and see about Stirling's EdTs when they come out. Too many options. I need to think this over.

A la Mancha, today is Tammy's birthday. We had been so busy that it kind of snuck up on me. I am winging it today. I will take her out to dinner tonight and treat her like a queen. She has told me repeatedly that she doesn't want a present, but I do not believe her, so I just got her some small stuff.

You are learning the power of the the Injectah!

Happy birthday to your wife. And yup they say they don't want anything, but I have noticed if I put a little thought into it, then the the gift goes a long way. Good call getting her a gift.
