Chatillon Lux La Forêt de Liguest Salve / Chatillon Lux La Forêt de Liguest AS

Today, I had to introduce the new bowl to the den and thought, what better way than with a CBL soap? Well, this bowl definitely lathers well. It will take some getting used to though. It is a narrower and taller one than I am used to. I got done lathering and my fingers were covered in wondrous lather. This shave I decided to do 3 passes instead of my normal 2. I wound up with what I thought was going to be up there with the DS and HC BBS of other people, BUT, there was one whisker that seemed to escape the blade. It was still a great shave, just the rating is escaping me. And the scent, OK, anybody who hasn't tried Chatilon Lux needs to. I just love this stuff.

Thanks for reading. Have a great rest of your day.

I have not tired Chatillon Lux and I need to!
Yes, you do. I am waiting until their next seasonal release to order anything. Their Colonia Balsamica intrigues me.

Nice shave today Don and maiden use of the Turkish bowl!
Thanks Josh.

Good stuff Don. I've eyeballed those Turkish bowls for awhile. Perhaps one day I'll pull the trigger.

Yesterday, I did a lot of mowing. I haven't been able to get my lawnmower started this season. I think it needs a new carburetor. So yesterday, I decided that I have to get it cut some way or another. I sucked up my pride and borrowed my neighbor's push mower. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but the grass in the back yard was almost knee high. I had to go very slow so that it wouldn't bog down and also had to do 2 passes. I probably spent the better part of 3 hours mowing the half acre. I won't let it get like that again. But today I am paying the price. My allergies are in overdrive. I am taking my normal allergy pill plus benadryl. Because of that I just wanted a quick and easy shave today. I grabbed the injector and went to work. I did notice one thing about it that I don't like as much as the GEM, it is quiet. I am talking church mouse quiet. I like a little audible feedback. But it left me with a 3 pass BBSG, so I can't complain to much. Because of the allergies, I wasn't really feeling a scent today, so I just did the lucky tiger salve and called it good.

A la Mancha, I am going to spend most of the day at church today. I am going to be teaching the kiddos, then have a 2 hour training session. I will probably be there til around 4.

I hear you on the allergies...they hit me around this time of year too. Good shave with the 'jectah, however.

Nice shave Don!

Sorry about the allergies, mine and SWMBO's are a flaring giving us a fit the last few days.

Allergies Suck! I can help you out if you wanna come get a tractor though!
I actually don't mind push mowing, I had just let the yard get out of hand.

LT VC / Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender

Today, I went with the tried and true combination of the HeV and CL. Great combo. The new bowl definitely makes lather better than my old smooth bottom bowl and none falls out. The technique is a little different, but that is not a bad thing. I did a 2 pass shave today and wound up with a very nice DFS. Plus, I smell great.

I got notification that my 2 knots will be arriving at Steve's (Graydog) house today. I know what one of the handles looks like and it is awesome, the second one, I don't have a clue. He said he was finishing it yesterday. So, theoretically, I should have 2 new brushes by the end of the week, a Maggard 2 band 26mm and a Maggard 70/30 mixed 26mm. Here is the first one, it will have the mixed in it.

A la Mancha, yesterday was a long day. My son threw up Saturday night, so he stayed home from church on Sunday. He also was extremely tired all day for not having slept well. I think it is just he had drainage from allergies, but I didn't want to risk making others sick. There is a stomach bug floating around my kids' school. This morning, he wouldn't get up. Usually, he is a bit of a bear in the mornings, but today was something totally different. The LOTH had me put him in bed with her and I just got my daughter ready for school and took her. I hope he is just really tired from not sleeping well. She ended up taking him in a little late.

Can't wait to see the two new brushes. Also hope the little man isn't coming down with that stomach bug you mentioned.
