Primo's Journal du Jour...

Primo's back...:ROFLMAO:
Thanks for all the well wishes. Seeing my kids always fills up my heart.
Eschewed shaving whilst there, so the 4-day growth necessitated a sharp razor.

Fine American Blend~~Simpson D3~~Wostenholm~~YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme
The American Blend by Fine always confused me, seeing that the scent is based upon a French EdT.
Huh?
:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:
Nonetheless, it's terrific lather and smells great.
(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)
The Wosty has a keen edge, lovingly maintained by my mediocre honing.
Smooth results and...an unsolicited SWMBOSOA©
:love::love::love::love::love:

Side note: Messrs. Trafalgar and Honeysuckle (two of my patent lawyers) have noticed some shenanigans on this forum. Certain shavers, who will remain nameless, have been inferring a receipt of an SOA by their SWMBOS---without paying the required fee due the copyright holder---ME!
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have instructed them to issue "Cease and Desist" orders, post haste.

You’ll be hearing from my attorneys. Dewey, Cheatham and Howe, regarding the SWMBO terminology which is actually attributable to the PBS series of some 30 yrs ago, Rumpole of the Bailey! 😉

Welcome home, Joseph, and I'm glad you had a wonderful family visit. I would have responded sooner, but I don't recognize anyone with four days of scruff.

Great shave today. TdH is my favorite frag when I want to a be a modern man. Of course, I'll rock Aramis anytime I'm wearing my leisure suit.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Sir,
On behalf of my client, the most revered Primotenore, DOB (Classified), Last know residence, Vault 101, I wish to make perfectly clear, that my client never has, never will claim to own the rights to "SWMBO", as you inferred in your post, dated 11/21/21 at 10:32pm. However, my client DOES have a 100 year Utility Patent for the acronym: "SWMBOSOA" (She, Who Must Be Obeyed Seal Of Approval).

Thank you for your kind attention.

Oxnard F. Tittlebaum, Esq.

I worked at a department store while in college and I sold Men's Leisure suits. They were quite the mode.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Charlie. :)

Fabulous shave lineup Joseph. I picked up a bottle and tallow formula shave soap of the Fine L'Orange Noir.
You are going to love this combination, Clint. The soap was amazing this morning. My lather was not hydrated enough. Not dry, but stuck to the razor. Nonetheless, the soap was plenty slick to protect me from the R41. Really to try the Feather?

ETHOS Lavender Suprême~~Simpson CH2~~Feather AS-D2/Feather~~Musc Ravageur
The title of today's shave shall be forever remembered as: "Expected more...got less."
"What do you mean, Primo", murmurs the throng.
Well, since you asked.
Players include a very slick and protective soap and a razor with a small gap and a fresh Feather blade.
Now, wouldn't you expect to get a great shave with these components? I certainly did.
Everything was going swimmingly, until the ATG pass on my lower-right neck. What's this? Irritation.
Before
you accusez-moi, this was mos def© NOT user error.
Lightest of touches. Shallowest of angles. Slickest of soaps. Sharpest of blades...wait a minute...did I get a harsh Feather blade????
Would not be unheard of.
I used to denim strop my Feathers when they were new. I may have to go back to this practice.

I connected the lavender top note of this, my fragrance du jour, with the lavender of the ETHOS:

Great juice, but a tad too tame for my tastes.

Shaving will continue at the hotel. (My kids live in a "Tiny Home", hotel is a necessity)
Funny, that reminded me how some things just seem commonplace that always weren't. When my parents came to visit me, they always had a hotel room. I never lived in a place with an extra bedroom and that's just how things were. Until I met my wife. The first time my parents came down to visit after we move in together, I was told under no circumstances do parents stay in a hotel. We had no extra bedroom mind you. So that is how I found myself sleeping on the floor of one of the kids' rooms on an air mattress with all the kids crammed into the other room. To this day I don't get my bed when my parents are in town.

XPEC~~Simpson PL8~~Gillette #44/Feather~~Dehn Al Oodh Malaki
Couple of items that you don't see everyday on the shave fora. The XPEC and the Swiss Arabian Stank-Juice.
Let's start with the XPEC. If memory serves, there was some real love and hate for this product when I first returned to wet-shaving in 2014.
The scent is a rosemary/thyme/woody/chypre. This would pair well with Aramis, Puig Quorum and Dior Eau Sauvage.
The lather is very, very slick and by the way the #44, loaded with day-two Feather, slid around my face without effort.
Excellent shave.
BTW: Day Two feather blades are, imo, one of THE best DE shave experiences out there.
My stank is an OOOOUUUUDDDDYYY potion from the house of Swiss Arabian.

Here's what Primo had to say on the stank fora:

I admire this juice. It is a not trying to be something it's not. It serves as a base for "headier" Oud fragrances, but is quite striking as a "stand-alone".

AoS Oud~~Simpson CH3~~Leresche #51/Feather~~Tom Ford Oud Wood
Cool weather with precipitation calls for something "Oudy". Therefore, AoS Oud shaving cream followed by Tom Ford Oud Wood.
In between, we have the French Leresche #51 loaded with the third and final appearance of the Feather blade.
Delivering the Oud cream to the kisser is my bestest Chubby 3. Back in the Somerset era, Best Badger and beautifully shaped knots were the order of the day.
Best Badger today bears little to no resemblance to the fine, soft and luxurious Best Badger of old.
This brush has a large knot with sufficient flow-through to deliver the lather to the face, without hogging it.

The Frech razor shaves well and the results were wonderful...not BBS everywhere, but a very fine shave.

For those Americans, who are celebrating Thanksgiving, I wish you all a wonderful day with your families.
