Pens, inks and related.....

Looks like mine is scheduled for delivery on Saturday. I really hope it makes it by tomorrow somehow so i can try it out on saturday at work(extra shift). seems unlikely though.

That sucks. Maybe they will make it right.
I’m still not sure if it was something I may have done wrong. I’m still new to the fountain pen world lol. I’m letting it soak in water and I’m going to try again this weekend. I’m thinking maybe the converter wasn’t on tight enough.

If I remember correctly they aren’t seated tightly when they arrive.

There isn't much to it, you just have to push it snuggly into the base of the section.

Can you tell where it's leaking from?

Post a pic if you can.

Did you take the pen apart? A lot times there will be a cartridge inside the barrel.

Yeah, I took it apart to check it out but no joy. I’ll swing by Hobby Lobby on the way home today and see if they have something to get me started.

I’m thinking this is the problem.

It’s just dripping right out of the nib. Almost like you were slowly flushing the pen by pushing the piston through the cartridge.

I don't think that could even happen if the cartridge isn't snug enough. Pressure is the only thing I know that causes that, sometimes due to changes in temperature. (I've had it happen walking outside in the cold and then going indoors for example.)

Sometimes there can be an air bubble in the ink itself. In any case taking the cart off and getting any air out could help.

I'm using the converter it came with. I'll have to try again later tonight. It seemed like the converter was snug but after writing 2 sentences it started to just purge ink. If you held the pen vertically with the nib pointing down (same position as if you were writing) Ink would just slowly drip out of the nib without touching the paper.
