PASS AROUND of a Brass Colonial General any interest ??

Nice first thoughts. Especially interesting about the weight comparison and density. Never would have thought about that but makes perfect sense.

This has been tempting me for a while. I'm going to wait until it's closer to the end to decide for sure though. Things are a bit tight at the moment and I want to make sure I can get it mailed back out.

Okay guys...I received the General on Monday and decided to use it today. I am short on time so I will elaborate later. But I wanted to get a quick one in here to let you all know my first impressions.

This razor is not nearly as aggressive as I thought. I still have to figure out the angles a bit more...but overall I think it is a very smooth and efficient shaving razor. So far I like it a lot. Got a couple of nicks, weepers, and a little irritation on the neck. But nothing that a little witch hazel couldn't handle.

I'll post more later...but need to get out the door!

Thanks guys and have a wonderful day!

Some thoughts about yesterday's shave with the General. I love the weight of this razor. I know it is pretty hefty...but it really lends to my preferences. I also love the way the brass patinas or will patina with use. Of course with it being brass and all...you can polish it up also if you like shiny things.

One of the things I am struggling with (I do realize that it has only been two shaves with it though) is that the wide width kind of makes it more difficult to shave my neck. Not sure if the pits on my neck on either side of the Adam's Apple are deeper than others...but I am having a hard time with these areas. Okay...I'm having a hard time with my neck in general. All is well though. I think I am only a shave or two away from getting the angle perfected.

More to come later!

Uh oh...I might have started something with Don! Once you start on these, (the heavier) AC style SE's, you can't stop!

I do think I like this guy...but to be honest...it's almost like learning how to shave again! If I had to pick up an AC style razor right now. I think I would want something even just a tad bit more mild than this. I like the General just plenty...but as is...if I owned it...It would likely be more of a once a week shaver...or maybe every other shave...than a daily driver.

As I mentioned in my journal. My shave yesterday with the General was absolutely fantastic! A couple small weepers on the neck right under the chin...but nothing big. But herein lies the issue. It was so close and smooth that a shave with the General today was a bit of a chore and really burned my face. Nothing too bad...but I don't want to experience that everyday.

Likely no shave tomorrow to let the face heal a bit. And then a final shave with the General on Friday. I will try to get the awesome razor cleaned up and packed to be in the mail and on it's way to @ShavePastor on Saturday!

Here are the last two pics I took with the General:

I sent it on to Shave Pastor. I haven't heard anything from him. I will check my tracking number in a second and see if it was delivered.

It's been a few weeks..any update on where The General is at this time?

Hey Josh no worries. It arrived to me safe & sound from Don. Haven't used it yet as I had a funeral to go to and didn't want to mess up my shave. I will plan on using it for my next shave and provide my thoughts. Thanks again Josh for such a wonderful opportunity!

Ok, I got it shipped out to David with tracking info pm'd to him. Thanks Josh for the opportunity!

This razor was the first AC style SE razor I have used. It is beautifully made, feels very solid & substantial. It shaves pretty good also for me, especially on the ATG pass! I struggled just a bit on the moustache area as it was more tuggy feeling than I cared for, but everywhere else was good.

At this point I still prefer the DE, but I'm glad I got to try it out. You never know till you try it.......
