"The State" found fit to pay another visit yesterday. Good times were had by all. The hosting of these visits wouldn't normally fall to me, but given the restructuring that has taken place, it seems I've already formed a relationship and will be the primary contact. @Graybeard57 what's your #? Asking for a friend.

Almost as soon as I got home yesterday we were off to back-to-school night. I would a preferred to stay home but my daughter likes me to meet her teachers and it turned out to be a good thing going. But I'm tired of being tired. Up and at em early tomorrow for one of our favorite art fairs set in the Redwoods with a pancake breakfast under the trees. First time having it in person for many years, so can't miss it!

What the? Apparently, all of Monday's stuff got shoved over onto today with today's stuff. At least it's air-conditioned in here I guess. I am supposed to take Friday off just to burn some PTO. We'll see if I can keep the week from oozing over onto that day as well.

What is going on around here? There's a lot of swirl. I don't like swirl and try to manage to eliminate swirl. Problems with onboarding new people, computers not working, in department construction, people not under me responsible for work in my department. Swirl I tell ya! Ain't no good for anyone. It'll all settle out, but in the meantime, I have a headache and keep forgetting to drink my water. Speaking of water, because it's been hot here... The governor of California called our organization yesterday asking we run as many buildings as we can through the state off of generators during the peak electricity usage in the afternoon. Apparently, we saved enough electricity to power a bajillion homes. Well, maybe not that much, it was a lot and I wasn't totally listening. Just impressive that we're big enough to have a state-wide impact.

The shave? Ya, it was good. No weepers or sting and I pulled out an old scent. I need more summer scents, that's for sure.
