Modern Williams

As you can see by my updated sig, I used the Williams this morning. My Dove shave gel only had a pea-sized amount left, so it was an 80% Williams shave. Used my Chubby 2 synth and ended up with a nice lather, without any of the standard disappearing magic that I expect from modern Williams.

Nota bene: this is the first time I have used a synth with Williams.

I'll use my Chubby though to Sunday before switching to my Shavemac 2-band, but so far, so good! (y)

Your water must be very different than mine. Wetter??
I don't get that thick creamy lather like you do. Not at all, nosirree bob. In 2 weeks, my Yaqi Sagrada will come into play and we'll see if that makes a difference. So far, I've used a Chubby synth and an RV Shavemac 2-band, getting serviceable but not great lather.

Checking out the shelving behind you, I think you need to let Amber know that you need some AS for Christmas.

BTW If I am an inspiration, you must lead a sad life. 🤪

A few days with my Shavemac and I'm not at all happy with how it's working with the Williams. I'll be bypassing my horsie and going to my Yaqi Sagrada for tomorrow's shave.

Maybe it's Karma for your comments in the Football thread?!?! 😵 ;)

---hope the synthetic works better for you.

Alright...... I'll try it again... Never had any luck with it but I always keep some just because it's a dollar a puck and they actually sell it at the drugstore.
Wont be using a synth though. Really dont like those at all.

Ok... I did it as promised.
I was actually a bit impressed. Photo was after a 2 pass shave. Definitely not the slickness or cushion I get from CBL, Lisa's, or MW, but passable. Lather dried on me a bit, but that may be fixed with some tweaking. I was surprised that I got what I did with no blooming or soaking, and not much more than normal loading.

For $1.19 a puck, I think I'm going to have to keep some around to play with occasionally. And by the way, those sample size tubs that Chris (CBL) has are the perfect size for a Williams puck.
