A nice, relaxing Sci-Fi ambience for your Sunday. Hope you enjoy.
Great shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Crabtree & Evelyn for Men shave soap and splash. Fantastic 80's scent with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Envy Shave badger brush for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave splash and PAA "Crabapple & Newton" EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: No shave yesterday. Had something early and I woke up late so it was just a shower, dress and out the door. Made today's shave extra nice!! I really like this brush. Not as dense and a bit floppy, but it builds a great lather!

A couple of classics from Genesis for your Monday. Hope you enjoy.
Wow! Phenomenal shave this morning! Got in the AoS shave soap from the Valobra era and used it for the first time this morning. I had forgotten what an incredibly thick and slick lather the old Valobra base produced. Three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Stirling Soap Co. Bay Rum witch hazel, followed by the Clubman VIBR aftershave lotion.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Warm with temps close to 80° the next few days, hence the return to the warmer weather scent.

Wonderful shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Colonia" suite. Fantastic Italian Colonia scent with incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush. Three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching skin food splash and EdP.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a couple more from Boston-based Cinematic Dark-Pop artist, Llynks. Hope you enjoy.
Another phenomenal shave this morning. Returned to Alabama-based Soap Commander and their excellent seasonal release, "Thanksliving" shave soap. Wonderful scent with notes of apple, orange and clove and although it's not listed, I seem to detect some cranberry in there as well. An incredibly thick and slick lather, built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by vintage Avon Öland aftershave lotion and Dana "English Leather" EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Very warm and muggy this morning! Almost feels like we're back in June or July.

Going with a couple today from English multi-instrumentalist Paul Ortiz. Hope you enjoy.
Wonderful shave this morning! Had a different one prepped but changed it up last minute. Returned to my vintage Williams shave soap. No scent but an incredibly thick an slick lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum, along with Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage Avon Spicy aftershave lotion and "Brisk Spice" EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Another soupy morning. Temp leaving the the house was already past the typical high temp for this time of year. Some rain and storms moving in tomorrow but nothing severe. Glad of that. Tornadic storms are not uncommon here during the late fall and early winter. One of the most destructive and deadliest tornadoes struck on November 15, 1989.

Wonderful shave with which to close out the workweek! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Fiore d'arancio e Neroli" shave soap. Fantastic scent with a great lather lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum, along with Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Muelhens 4711 aftershave lotion and EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: More disgusting mugginess this morning, hence the warmer weather scents. Not the best night's sleep but coffee and a great shave are helping. Company Thanksgiving luncheon today since there will be many who will be travelling next week.

It's "Metal Monday" and today I'm going with one from NJ based progressive metal band, Symphony X. This is their 2007 release, Paradise Lost. It's a concept album based on John Milton's 1667 epic poem of the same name. Hope you enjoy.
Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Fougere" shave soap, splash and EdP. Wonderful scent with phenomenal lather built with the Rich Yuengel synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum, along with Quinn's Lavender witch hazel, followed by the matching skin food splash and EdP.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Crazy weekend. Was working with the wife in the spare "catch-all" room trying to declutter and get stuff together we could discard / donate when I felt a bump in the floor. Apparently she had placed a box over the duct register (no telling how long it had been there) and moisture had collected around it causing the hardwood to buckle. I tried to fix it but discovered the subfloor had rotted. At that point I realized it was beyond my home repair skills and had to call a guy I know who does home repair / remodeling. Oh, the joys of home ownership.

Rich Creamy Lather was @Majorrich 's nickname in college.
I also have a flooring issue at my house. The previous owner had run the dishwasher long after it was functional as a dishwasher and more as a colander. So the subfloor in front of the dishwasher is spongy. This is the type of repair that is beyond my skills so I'm also looking for a repair guy. Home ownership....the curse and the joy.
Now it's just his professional promise.
We have a similar issue. Discovered the water supply to the refrigerator had been leaking. Now many of the floorboards in my dining are warped. I think they are just going to stay that way, because I fear the repair will be very involved and expensive.
Dont forget guys your homeowners will cover under water damage

Wonderful scent and the lather (built with the Sorrentino Brushworks synth) is phenomenal! A very underrated soap that punches well above its weight! Three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum, along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by Clubman Musk aftershave lotion and Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur EdC.
