Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It being Thanksgiving and all, these are the only apropos videos I can feature... Hope you enjoy.



Late post but a great shave to start the day! Returned to CBL Premium Shave Soap and Chris's excellent "Russian Tea" shave soap and aftershave tonic. . Wonderful citrus / clove scent with an incredible lather built with the Wild West Brushworks synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum, along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave tonic. No frag since we were going to be at the in-law's house for much of the day.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: I guess since yesterday was chai, I'm on a "tea" kick this week. Maybe tomorrow will be Noble Otter's "Thé Noir et Vanille"?? Check back tomorrow and see!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's a cloudy, drizzly day here. Very moody. Days like this make me think of what it would be like out on Scottish moors. So today I'm going with a couple from multi-instrumentalist and composer David Arkenstone befitting for a day like today. Hope you enjoy.



Late post but a great shave to start the day! Returned to what has become one of my favorite shaving combinations, vintage Crabtree & Evelyn Mysore Sandalwood shave soap paired with ETHOS Grooming Essentials "Mysore Santal" skin food splash and EdT. Three luxurious passes with the Kare for an incredible BBS result, finishing with the aforementioned splash and frag. If there's something better than this out there, I can't imagine what that would be. May use this setup again tomorrow.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Gig with the country band went incredibly well last night. Playing at the wedding reception and the bride actually came up (in her wedding gown) and sang with us! Out for some shopping today. Kinda glad to be going back to work tomorrow. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were non stop!

Going with a new release from Aussie rockers Karnivool today. Hope you enjoy.


Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Avon suite of shave soap, ASL and EdC. Not much scent to the soap. It's there but light. Definitely picking up some talc and amber notes. The lather today was on point! Simply incredible, producing a nigh vintage Yardley level quality slip and cushion! Three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, finishing up with vintage Avon Leather aftershave lotion and Black Suede EdC. An easy BBS shave!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. A great shave and great coffee. Life is good!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with a vid from German-born drummer, Sina. Hope you enjoy.


A fairly basic shave this morning. Great lather from the CO Bigelow cream and the scent always carries me back to my fledgling wet shaving days. Three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Proraso aftershave balm. No frag today. Another easy BBS shave!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Follow-up appt. at the doc's this morning hence the low-scent shave.

Interesting.......

Mark tends to downplay his odoriferousness when in the proximity of others.....Bougie, on the other hand, tends to go the exact opposite direction. I've heard that windows on planes are sometimes rolled down to get a fresh breath of air.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's wonderful "Russian Tea" shave soap and splash. Fantastic lather built with the Paladin badger brush forvthree passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching skin food splash. No frag again today. Another easy BBS shave!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not at work today. The missus has a medical procedure and we have to be at the hospital at 11:30. Nothing serious.

Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Alabama-based artisan company, Soap Commander and their LE seasonal release, "Goodwill" shave soap. A wonderful holiday scent with fantastic lather built with the WWBW synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and Burberry "London" aftershave emulsion & EdT. Another easy BBS shave!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Things went well at the hospital yesterday. SEC Championship game this weekend! Looking forward to it.

Wonderful shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent pipe tobacco soap and splash, "Cavendish". A wonderfully aromatic scent with notes of Dark Kentucky & Burley Tobacco, Cherry Wood, Vanilla Bean, Cedar, Leather & a kiss of Smoke. Fantastic lather built with the Sorrentino synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave splash & EdP. Another easy BBS shave!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not feeling all that great today. Hope I'm not coming down with something.
