Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's Halloween this Friday so I'll be featuring some spooky selections for you all week. Hope you enjoy.


Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent "Cavendish" soap and splash. Wonderful pipe tobacco scent with an incredibly slick and cushioning lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching ASL and Phaedon "Tabac Rouge" EdP. Fantastic BBS results!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not the best night's rest. Coffee and a great shave are helping.

Continuing with the spooky music selections in the run-up to Halloween. Hope you enjoy.


And the hits just keep coming! Returned to Southern Witchcrafts and their excellent "Samhain" shave soap. Wonderful boozy-spicy scent with an incredibly slick and thick lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by Derby City Chop Shop "Winter Reserve Shave Tonic" and Dior "Bois d'Argent" EdC. Fantastic BBS results!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Better night's rest last night, despite being awakened at 4 a.m. by a call from the after hours alarm monitor.

Another incredible shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent "Clown Fruit" shave soap & splash. A wonderful sweet and spicy, herbal scent with an incredible lather built with the Stirling Soap Co. synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching ASL and Dior "Bois d'Argent" EdC. Fantastic BBS results! The scent of the soap & splash is very unique and I've always had trouble finding a suitable frag to pair with it. However, during this morning's shave, it occurred to me that the scent might work with Bois d'Argent and it did. The frag isn't a match and the two don't have any scent notes that overlap, but the two complement each other nicely.

Wonderful shave on this, the penultimate day of October! Returned to Southern Witchcrafts and their excellent "Carmilla" shave soap. Fantastic scent with notes of Nag Champa, Frankincense & Amber. An incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by Zino Davidoff ASL and EdT. Fantastic BBS results!

Fantastic shave with which to end both the workweek and the month! Returned to Southern Witchcrafts and their excellent "Samhain" shave soap. A warm, spicy and slightly boozy scent with notes of Pumpkin, Sandalwood, Bourbon & Tobacco. An excellent lather built with the Sorrentino Brushworks synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by Aqua Velva Musk ASL and vintage Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur EdC. Fantastic BBS results!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Last night was one of those night where I was asleep mere minutes after my head hit the pillow and slept all the way through to morning. Here's hoping that trend continues.

Late post but a fantastic shave to start the day! Returned to PAA and their excellent seasonal release, "Ciderhouse Five" shave soap and splash. A warm, spicy scent with notes of Pipe Smoke, Mulled Apple Cider, Oakwood, Dried Leaves & Linseed with an excellent lather built with the PAA synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching ASL and AL Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition EdP. Fantastic BBS results!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. REALLY impressed with this frag! Great scent that punches WAY above its weight in quality and performance. Huge cured tobacco leaf note along with vanilla, star anise, cacao and clove. Calls to mind Tom Ford TV, but without all the sweetness.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Crabtree & Evelyn "Mysore Sandalwood" shave soap. Not a lot of remaining scent (still there and I can detect more of it when lathered), but the lather, built with the Paladin badger brush, is simply incredible. Three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by ETHOS Grooming Essentials "Mysore Santal" skin food splash and EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: I wish they would stop with the time changes and just stick with standard time. :mad:

Kicking off the workweek with a couple of classics from Rush. Hope you enjoy.



Another incredible shave this morning! Returned to The Cajun Blade and Eric's excellent collab with The Lathered Yeti, "Voodoo Yeti - The Legend of the Blood Moon" shave soap. An excellent scent (which can be used year round), with an equally excellent lather, built with the Rich Yuengel synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue aftershave lotion and Czech & Speake "Frankincense & Myrrh" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Changing up the hours here at work. We had always worked from 8 to 5 with an hour lunch. Today we start 8 to 4:30 with a half hour lunch. Gonna be nice getting out of here 30 minutes earlier.

Wow! Don't know how I'll be able to top this morning's shave! Returned to CBL Premium Shave Soap and Chris's excellent "Drinks & Daves" shave soap and splash. Wonderful scent with notes of Leather, Cedar, Fresh Cigars, Charred Cedar, Cigar Smoke & Scotch Whisky. An incredibly thick and slick lather, built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve Christopher Bradley razor and I finished with alum along with Thayers unscented witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave tonic and Floris "Islay" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Again, not much to report. Life is good!

I finished off the original tub so quickly....but the dregs became the beginning of my clown puke tub.
