No fear. I had it handled. I’m a lucky man. Married to a wonderful woman. Today is our 14th wedding anniversary. Got a good load to Hayward, California with likely back haul out of San Diego. I had shrimp pasta salad and beef stroganoff for dinner, all made by my dearest. Sorry no pictures. My eyes only. Next shave is tomorrow night. Bon appetite’.

A very Happy Anniversary to the lucky couple.

I started the day in Alma, Texas and ended in Moriarty, New Mexico. I was going to stop at the Loves in Santa Rosa, NM, but I couldn’t see leaving two hours on my DOT drive clock. So I pushed on to the TA in Moriarty, leaving 15 minutes on the clock. The down side is no free shower room and I’m not about to pay real money for one. The nice thing about TA and Petros (own by same company) is they have large sink and counter areas. So off I go into the TA for a public shave. No video, here’s a still photo of the equipment used this evening.

BTW, this is the first time I’ve taken a Martin de Candre soap on the road. It performed as great as you’d expect.

Razor: J.A. Henckels Friodour.
Brush: QED Select 24mm Manchurian Silvertip Badger.
Soap: MdC Original
Refinements: Osma Alum Block, Aqua Velva Blue Ice (not pictured).
Results: starting with about 36 hours growth, the end was marvelous.

Yesterday morning I woke up at the Loves truck stop in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I had a nine and a half hour drive to Hayward, California for delivery this morning. I departed Lake Havasu about at 11:20 A.M., but first I enjoyed a hot shower and a very nice shave. Once arrived at my delivery point last night at 9:45 P.M., where I had an assured parking, I set to uploading this video of the morning shave. It took a while to get it done done, but here it is. My check-in time here is in an hour at 8:00 A.M. In the meantime, enjoy the show.

I started Wednesday morning in Hayward, California, having spent the night on-site at delivery. The San Diego back haul was still in doubt and my dispatch manager for the load was taking the day off for anniversary. I just knew the day would end in confusion. Without a confirmation of the load no way was I going into the madness of Los Angeles for the wash out. So I pulled up in Tehachapi, two hours from the wash out, wait for my dispatch to return for further orders. I may still get the San Diego load. In the meantime, plenty of time for a nice hot shower and shave. Enjoy.

Yesterday was a 630 mile day. Got stopped in Amarillo, Texas. Almost home. Those are good words. Should be in today, if all goes well. Good hot shower, shave, and night’s sleep and I’m ready to roll. Let’s go. Daylight’s burning… well almost. Enjoy.

The good news is I found a four lane highway route from Houston to Amarillo that avoids and bypasses Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio. Nothing like unimpeded driving and flying down the road. The bad news is I ran through a giant cloud of dust kicked up by a road crew cutting grass along side the road, and I feel terrible. Allergies are raging. I knew when I drove through it, this isn’t going to end well. I almost didn’t record this morning because I didn’t feel well, but I was going to shave anyway, so best foot forward. Enjoy.

I really love that Henckels shave piece.

Hope this writing finds you feeling better.

I’ve obviously been absent for a while. I’ve been sick for about 15 days on a wave of totally out and trying to get better. I was suppose to have a new load Monday, but when I got to the yard, it had been canceled. By the time I got home around noon, I was sinking fast. Another 36 hours in bed and I’m feeling better again. New load assignment, feeling better, we’ll see how things go for the rest of the week.
