Let's All 3017... 2020 CBL Tonsorial Edition!

Have any of you tried grating hard soaps into a bowl? I've seen it done here from time to time.
I've tried it a few times with mixed results. If it's not done right, the shredded pieces never some together, and end up falling out as you lather..... but curious why you bring this up here? The tonsorial pucks are hard-ish, but they can be pressed into a tub. I took my tonsorial puck and pressed it into an empty CBL tub. Work great..... (not grate)!

I'm glad the shower shave worked well for you. I got a suction cup mirror to go in there and that helps make sure you don't have any accidents. Somehow it saves me 15 minutes or more each morning. Did you find it saved you time as well?
Indeed I did save a few minutes overall. It seems weird and yet makes sense at the same time.

I haven't done it. I've used soaps that were. Worked like they were made to.

Sure, lots of times. I'm very particular about the dimensions of my bowls and tubs so I don't hesitate to move a soap to a different bowl. I've also grated a puck into a stick container. The drawback is that a soap that was grated only lasts about 80% as long as one that wasn't grated, in my experience.

2020 Shave # 9 ( 429 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Bigelow & Parkin Travel Razor
Blade: GSB (1)
Brush: Sorrentino Sea Foam
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (9)
Balm: LNHC Post Shave Elixir Unscented
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Skin Bracer

Pulled out the B&P travel razor and had a nice smooth shave. The soap is dropping in weight so either it was water hydrating it or the new pup is keeping @Spider from sneaking in to top off the tub. Before shave was 96 g and after it was 94 g.

When I did weigh....

Using a synth there was a 1g delta, using a badger there was a 2g delta. But that's single data points. I'd really need a week with each to average out for any meaningful data.

KJ I think you need to weigh yourself before and after lathering. This way we will know how much Lather you are actually using during the shave versus just how much you are removing from the puck.

Blooming this soap every morning definitely has it's advantages. My brush loads turn out better and the lathering process is much better also. I know this version of @CBLSoap.com doesn't have all the fancy butters and oils that are in his other soaps or what other artisans make, but my face is feeling pretty good. As far as face feel goes...I think I like @CBLindsay 's hemp soap formula better...but continuous use with soap definitely agrees with my face. I think I said it yesterday...but the Tonsorial version has a better post shave feel than I first gave it credit.
