Let's All 3017... 2020 CBL Tonsorial Edition!

I used my "Money" version of this again today. It's the Plain Jane unscented one. It's not big enough for the tub I have it in so I just merely hold it in my left hand and with my synthetic brush in my left I load the lather. My "flat bottom" Tech was loaded with a new Chinese Gillette Goal Super Platinum for a remarkable shave. These bonafide Chinese Gillette blades (beware of fakes) are every bit as good as the Russkie ones. Probably the best shave soap for the money nowadays.

Still going with the Money BETA puck. This soap was a good sized chunk to start with... and it still is. I am loading heavy, but it seems resistant to getting smaller. The shaves are great and I am going to keep it going for as long as it lasts. However, I did not expect it to be going quite as slowly as it it.

Money is a mix of clean paper/linen scent mixed with a metallic ink scent. My Money beta pucks were quite strong. Too strong for me. I have given most of mine away.

Shave today was kinda off. Not sure what I did but my lather came out kinda airy and not as slick as normal. It acted well hydrated beyond that and was making a mess all over. The Tai Winds AVON AS from @dangerousdon finished things up nicely though. This one doesn't seem to stick around much for me but it is what it is.

Later morning shave as I have a Cadre Friday. Loading the brush today saw some small chunks chip off the puck and get wooshed around the tub and stick to the brush suds. Decided to close the lid after shave so it will hopefully hold moisture and stay intact. Another great shave but getting tired of the same soap day in day out. Don't get me wrong the shaves are enjoyable but not on the level they would be (for me) having variety and the ability to try new soaps that had arrived and are sitting or ones I see others use and think yeah that sounds good for tomorrow. Having said that, I am determined to finish this one so I can say I have succeeded at a 3017.

After the boar not shedding a single hair last outing I had high hopes that were dashed for today. No less than 12 hairs shed but who's counting. Another great CBL Tonsorial shave with the 3017 powering ahead and diminishing slowly but steadily. Talk of vintage razors had me pull out my fatboy for today's shave and will use the Red Tip for tomorrow's. These are my 2 favorite vintage razors that I've used over the years.
