Ok, so I did a small community service. I emptied a tub of CBL so if you’re curious, you can weigh your tub and subtract the empty weight to see where you stand.

And for those who like to weighwith the lid on:

Now, interesting thing, my tub weighs exactly the same as it did two days ago. So it is definitely taking on water.

My g/day calculation now is 1.7 over the last 10 days.... but 2 days ago it was 2.125 over 8 days. Now that I can calculate back to day 1, with the empty tub weight, I’m at 0.75g over 13 days.

This is wildly inconsistent. My conclusion here, is that the amount of water it is taking on during blooming, and drying out after use is highly variable. The only accurate g/day number that I will trust now, is averaged over the entire life of the puck from first shave to last.

So the only way to predict your finish date is see what day you finish?
My comments said nothing about predictions. You can WAG it all you want, and you might come close. I think the SWAG I made the other day will be more accurate than the one I would make today given the new data. I bloomed it much longer this morning, so I assume it took on a bunch more water than normal, skewing the data.

If your methods are more consistent, especially if you are not blooming at all, then you’ll be able to have more accurate predictions.

Like I mentioned previously in this thread, if your puck is taking on water, your consumption by weight will be slower in the beginning, but will ramp up near the end.

2020 Shave # 16 ( 436 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Occam O.R.E.N.
Blade: Schick Proline (2)
Brush: Stirling Badger Fan
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (16)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Dragonsbeard Skin Food Splash
Fragrance: CK Euphoria Amber Gold

Had a nice shave with the Occam O.R.E.N. razor with 2 (medium) plate. from John this morning. No issues and my typical smooth shave although I had to work for it. I enjoyed getting to try this razor but it's not for me as it's odd handle isn't always comfortable to hold especially on my side to side passes. They have a dizzying array of versions of it too which would make it hard to know what you wanted. Thanks again John and I will get this posted today and send tracking to you and the next recipient @Spider .

The 3017 is progressing with enjoyable shaves. YES, I miss variety but am enjoying the idea of finishing a tub of soap and still have changes in aftershaves, razors and brushes etc.. Tub weighs in at 88 grams and while there is no donut hole, I can see light shining thru where the donut hole is forming. Have a great day Cadre !!!

2020 Shave # 17 ( 437 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Wizamet (4)
Brush: @Techichi The Hive
Soap: CBL Tonsorial Fresh Lime 3017 (17)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Splash
Fragrance: Nuit D'Issey Noir Argent

Back to the 6s Plate 5 with a Wizamet for some familiar good shaves before I get the Envoy razor for testing on Saturdays shave. I continue to be impressed with this Hive Brush. The Fresh Lime continues to deliver a great quality shave, scent and cooling effect. Weight pre-shave was 87 grams after drying from the previous day so we are making forward and steady progress. The Pique 1 Chip Challenge yesterday may have helped me make some progress on the crud but still fighting thru it. Long day today but ready to kick this pig ! Have a Stellar Day Cadre !!!

Soap/Cream: CBL Premium Soap - CBL Tonsorial - Balsamic Oud (8th Shave)

The Penultimate Aftershave: Humphrey's Lavender Witch Hazel
The Ultimate Aftershave: Fine Accouterments - Platinum

Another really great shave with CBL Tonsorial. The more I use this soap the better it gets. I am definitely optimizing how this lather works for me. I may have mentioned it before...but I think this soap has better post shave qualities than I previously gave it credit.
