Open Blade Shave #210:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (5), Gillette Slim L4 (setting 2), Sheffield Super Stainless blade (8), RR Big Bruce synth, William’s soap (modern; as preshave prep), Catie’s Bubbles Un Jour Gris soap, generic witch hazel, and Pinaud Special Reserve to finish!

Two more shifts to get through!

Good 3 pass shave this morning. I’ve been pretty consistently nailing everything other than just under the chin, that is hit n miss BBS or DFS depending on the day. I’ve been growing more comfortable with having a borderline DFS/BBS shave on the upper lip too; irritation in those areas is drastically reduced most days because of it!

Today I wanted to give Pinaud SR a fair outing, so I went with a fairly clean smelling (otherwise uninhibiting of other scents) soap by using the Un Jour Gris. The Williams helped kick up the slickness a notch.

This was my first use of PSR, so I rocked it, uncut for the most part, beside what a little dampness and nearly dried witch hazel might do. The scent grew on me as it was in the glass bottle and got some headspace. A fairly warming AS. It’s a fairly “damp” and “dark” (edging on dingy perhaps) scent. There is a light undercurrent of a dark, worn leather, with a heavier line of musk underlining the whole thing. The musk isn’t as in your face as AV Musk’s is, not quite as animalic, but definitely announces it presence. It will be interesting to see if PSR develops any further as the day wears on.

Should be a mostly quiet day for me today. A few events to clean up after today, Trunk-or-Treat to prep for tomorrow...home a little early!

Happy Friday all! Hope the boss lets you home early!

That is the one that sets my wife's asthma off not the regular Clubman. I have a whole bottle of that stuff that sadly may not ever see use again by me.

Open Blade Shave #211:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (6), Gillette Slim L4 (setting 2), Sheffield Super Stainless blade (9), RR Big Bruce synth, William’s soap (modern; as preshave prep), SC Commitment soap, generic witch hazel, and Master Jade AS to finish!

Just a quick entry before I head off to work.

Good shave after being able to sleep in a bit.

Normal 3 passes and split between razors. While the residual lasted, the Williams definitely added some slickness and feel to the SC experience.

Today will be the last for a bit with the Slim. I think I’ll do a Fatboy shave tomorrow. Not sure what will be next yet though. Maybe back to the GC?

When picking it, I couldn’t remember if I had used Master Jade before, but after using it, I think I already had. Didn’t feel like digging through the journal to find out for sure. A great feature to add to the forums might be tags and a tag search feature. Oh well! It’s a nice AS scent-wise, face feel is negligible though and the coloring might be a little off putting at first, who wants to put green-blue liquid all over their face anyway? ?

Looking forward to the Trunk-or-Treat event this evening, and a slightly early day closing!

Have a great Saturday all!

Open Free Shave:

Gear: Gillette Fatboy E2 (setting 3), Sheffield Super Stainless blade (10), RR Big Bruce synth, William’s soap (modern; as preshave prep), GD Flight soap, generic witch hazel, Speick AS, Fine Platinum AS, and Fine Platinum EdT to finish!

Late to bed, early to rise.

Not the brains or time enough to keep the Feather from potential damage today, so I just took the Fatboy in to do business. I spent every second I could luxuriating though!

Hot shower, Williams preshave lather worked into the skin, drawing out that, as Xeno Dave is so fond of saying, sebum (hey, watch your language) oil, creamy-rich GD lather, with 3 butter smooth Fatboy passes and a bit of cleanup for a 80% BBS. Don’t forget the DangerStyle post shave - lather soak, cold water rinse, witch hazel, Speick AS, Fine Platinum AS, and a couple spritzes of the Platinum EdT...I’m on my game today!

Church this morning, some yardwork and other house chores, then some family time. We purchased Solo a couple days ago, despite it being OK-ish (its still Star Wars!), so we’ll probably watch that together tonight with popcorn and some of the kids’ candy haul from yesterday.

Have a blessed Sunday my friends!

Great shave Chris! I’ve got to bring some DE’s back into the mix. They aren’t getting much love lately. Enjoy your day!

Open Blade Shave #212:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (7), RR Game Changer .68, Sheffield Super Stainless blade (10), RR Big Bruce synth, Williams soap (as preshave prep lather), Proraso Red soap, generic witch hazel, and Proraso Red AS to close!

Today’s video is up! Nice relaxing day.

Watching your video now so not much to say about the shave. BUT I have always wanted one of those T-rex suits! But I don't know if it will fit a 6'3" man.

I don’t know if there are varying sizes or not. The one my wife got is from Target. The suit has hand and foot holes that are handed with elastic.

Even if it didn’t completely fit, it would be a great paradox!
