If you have to do something...

Otherwise, it was my normal 3 passes. I’ll be switching out the GC, not sure for what yet. Perhaps I will bring out the Piccolo for a while? Maybe!

I have never tried a Fatip razor. Have looked at several since i got on this "not enough open comb's in the den" kick. Still have yet to increase the number past the MMOC that i own. Maybe after the Holiday season i will do so.

Sounds like a full weekend indeed. Sorry to hear about the missus not feeling well. Believe me, right now I can relate. Great shave..and watch out for that Picollo...they bite!

If one can find a perfectly made one, their golden; if one can find one without too many QC issues and is willing to deal with it, they’re still golden!

Great stuff going on! I’ll have Proraso Red on deck next week.

Thanks guys!

Nice read Chris. Don't warning!!! Don't brag to tour wife that you got the kids out quicker. Because then it'll be your job and that's when the kids turn on ya!

Free Shave Day:

Gear: Fatip Piccolo, Sheffield Super-Stainless (1), RR Big Bruce synth, JoHS Turkish Bath (Barbershop) soap, Alum block, generic witch hazel, Speick AS, and Ogalalla Bay Rum & Sandalwood AS to finish.

Just a quick entry today, it’s been a busy morning to start a busy day.

Decent shave. Went slow and careful with the Piccolo since I’ve only been using the Feather and mild DEs, didn’t want to destroy my face just yet.

I’m not sure exactly what the blade is, maybe KJ knows, I think he’s the one that sent it along. A little tuggy in the Piccolo, but OK.

Slapped on my AS layers and some moisturizer, and back out the door!

Spent the morning out n about. Two kids have a jog-a-thon today, so we watched them a while. Early day to work, which means early back home later, woohoo!

Enjoy your Friday folks!

No idea. Just pulled it out of soma blade samplers that I never touch.

I used to have a bottle of that Ogalalla Bay Rum & Sandalwood AS a while back. If you like the scents they are a good value I think. The only issue I have with those ASs is that you HAVE to make sure that you shake it before every use or else it gets real oily. I like their version of Bay Rum, Limes, and Peppercorns and I really like their version of plain old Bay Rum. The Bay Rum and Sandalwood is very pleasant...but I think it smells like a cross between a Ginger Snap and an oatmeal cookie!

And those oils will burn the heck out of you! I had a bad experience with a bottle, and I won’t use Ogalalla again.

It’s a good scent, pretty sweet. My issue is that it doesn’t really feel like you are putting anything on other than scent. I don’t get any face feel. So it’s fun to have, but I wouldn’t get more.

Open Blade Shave #204:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (17), Fatip Piccolo, Sheffield Super Stainless blade (2), RR Big Bruce synth, Catie’s Bubbles Un Jour Gris soap, Alum block, generic witch hazel, and Master Jade AS to finish!

Nice morning so far, got to sleep in a little later than normal. Was pretty wiped after yesterday’s shift and today is a later start; I’m probably not going to get out until midnight.

Shave was good today. Very little irritation despite using the Feather and an OC. The aggression was there trough the whole shave, particularly with the Feather blade on its last leg, but I navigated it well I think, really focusing on a light hand.

Today was first use of the Master Jade. I feel like I’ve smelled something similar before, I can’t remember where though. I’m not good at identifying scents without seeing a list, there’s a couple notes that really pop out though. I want to say there’s a strong mossy vibe and some kind of cedar (not a heavy woods scent though mind you), very light powder, which I like to be a minor note if it’s in an AS at all. A good enough overall scent on its own and likely a good mixer too!

I hope everyone enjoys their Saturday of relaxation and football!

I have always wanted to pick up several of the Master Aftershaves. Such big bottles and they smell nice too!

They aren’t too bad so far. They’re alcohol based, with glycerin; kind of light on the face feel aspect, but they do smell nice!

Open Blade Shave #205:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (18), Fatip Piccolo, Sheffield Super Stainless blade (3), RR Big Bruce synth, GD Flight soap, Alum block, generic witch hazel, Lucky Tiger AS, Fine Platinum AS, and Fine Platinum EdT to finish!

This Feather Pro blade has been killed.

Probably hung onto it a few shaves too long, it was quite tuggy today. No real harm done though, overall. Just a slight bit of razor burn.

Nice 3 pass, normal split, this morning. Piccolo and Sheffield blade are doing admirably, but I’m ready to swap out to the Slim next I think.

Well, I didn’t get to sleep until almost 1 last night, having finished up work just before midnight. It was quite a push!

Going to chug on through today and take care of most of my chores, that way I can be dead to the world tomorrow.

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend folks! Have a blessed Sunday!
