If you have to do something...

The Piccolo is a very efficient razor! I found it much to small to my liking...but man that sucker can shave. You just have to really pay attention or you can lose an ear!

Totally! I have the v2 head, can’t imagine what the v1 was like!

The Piccolo is an amazing value in a DE. ~$22 for an all-brass razor that really performs. That is practically unbeatable.

I have a pair of the V2 Piccolos and they are definite contenders for my "desert island" razor.

Agreed Doug! It’s a beast shaver, and mine is even one with alignment “flaws”, but a little fiddling and it works just fine.

Chris my apologies I fell so far behind. But I am caught back up. Perhaps I missed it but how did the fundraising go for the human trafficking cause?

Utah has a lot of human trafficking problems here as well. About two months ago I believe at a warehouse just 5 miles away from my office they found 20 young hispanic women ranging in the ages from 14-22 locked in a room, all malnourished, dehydrated, and barely hanging on to life. So sad that people are treated this way!

I was only working on campus while they did it. Seemed to go OK one of our congregation families ran it and some of our college group helped. All I know is they started with a ton of donated items and had a lot less when they finally started cleaning up 8 hours later, lol.

Thanks for reading!

Free shave day:

Gear: Fatip Piccolo, Astra SP blade (12), RR Big Bruce, Cella, and homemade Brut AS decant to close!

Still working on zero pressure with this bad boy. I did really well on most places, still having trouble with my upper lip though, mostly in the ATG. Tomorrow I must resist temptations and do XTG only in that spot. My skin there needs the rest, it’s been irritated there the most each shave this week. Mostly the top corners of my mouth, there’s just this stubble there that is really hard to get.

The other spots went really well. I was able to do a lot of blade buffing ATG with very little irritation. In fact, this is the most blade buffing that I’ve ever done during a shave, and I haven’t done it much. It produced a very nice result I must say. It helped immensely I think that the Piccolo’s OC design facilitates spot lathering very easily. Each buffing stroke the head laid down a nice thin layer of lather for the blade.

Stilling at 95%+ BBS. My mouth corners are paying the price though today, even with a full post shave regimen. It’s not too visible, but I can feel it. Thankfully it’s not my whole face. Must stick to the plan tomorrow!

Today is my mid-work week day. A few things going on, but an easy day.

Happy Thursday all!

Nice shave Chris. Your mustache area is dark after you shave so it's obviously dense and large follicles. Tough combination. Hope the irritation abates.

You have it exactly, it sucks! If I don’t get BBS or DFS+ it usually looks like I didn’t shave there at all. Thankfully it’s not patchy there...that would look worse.

Good job Chris! You know resistance is futile, right?

I know! But I must try!

Eh, just let it grow out. 3 or 4 days you’ll have caught up with Chad.

  • I had a V1 piccolo. I never thought it was that harsh. Always shaved pretty smoothly for me. Then again, I rode the cap.

Good write-up Chris. I think your plan to keep it to XTG in your problem areas is the right move, for at least a couple of days.
