If you have to do something...

Just got caught up. Sounds like the Feather SS still treats you better than old-school straight razors. No matter. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

Open blade shave #157:

Gear: Koken Army & Navy SR, Fatip Piccolo, Astra SP blade (10), RR Big Bruce, JoHS Turkish Bath (Barbershop), and CC Venture to close!

Today was a video day, though it won’t likely be uploaded for some days. I recreated yesterday’s SR shave for the camera. It went better than yesterday’s shave, though still a bit rough. It was kind of a fumble of a video, but it’ll go up anyway. A couple things I’m working on in my public speaking are upping facial expressions and tone variations. I look and sound pretty stiff most of the time.

So, 2 passes with the Koken and one with the Piccolo. Less overall irritation but the lather soak/cold water/alum/witch hazel/AS post shave routine has easily negated almost all of it.

Sitting at 95%+ BBS today!

Temps are cooling down here a bit this week, into the upper and mid 80s, which will definitely be nice. Hopefully it’ll help calm the CA fires so they can be contained as well.

Last night the missus and I spent a relaxing evening finishing the last Sherlock episode and starting to rewatch the Downton Abbey series. Also starting to go back over Star Trek The Next Gen from the beginning. I haven’t seen it from the beginning in over a decade. It’s quite corny and comical at the start! Lol!

Back to work today. This will be a transition week as a few programs are starting back up after summer break. Next week summer schedule will be officially over and it should be busy busy!

Happy Tuesday all!

95% BBS? Some people only dream of that kind of success! I am one of those people! Downton Abbey is definitely one of those special shows. I see that you and the missus are into BBC shows!

Thanks Don! Admittedly I chase more than I should, more often than I should. Hi, I’m Chris and I’m addicted to BBS shaves...

As to BBS, absolutely! They’ve been coming out with quality stuff this last century!

One of my favorite BBC shows is MI5. It's an older one...but there are 10 seasons of it out there. It used to be on Netflix...but I think it's on Hulu now. Sometimes it's called "Spooks" but it is a really great show!

Great, I’ll have to look for it!

Good shave Chris and good for you fine tuning your public speaking ability. Modulation (Pitch, pace and Power or volume are key) I got my Facial expressions down when serving a American Sign Language Congregation for 10 years. They are crucial in the language.

I wonder how that congregation would react to my facial expressions!

Free shave day:

Gear: Fatip Piccolo, Astra SP blade (11), RR Big Bruce, SC Commitment, and Proraso Red AS to close!

Todsy was just me and the SC Commitment, staring down the barrel of the fully loaded Piccolo. If I can get through a week of daily shaves with this thing, I’ll have conquered the king of aggression in my den.

Surprisingly the only nick I got was on the WTG, rounding the chin, and that didn’t even last long! The WTG and XTG passes are actually deceptively smooth, it’s on the ATG that you really have to tread with care. There was a healthy burn with the alum, but I’m sitting at 95%+ BBS.

By the end of this week, my hand should be retrained to a light touch. I do tend to give a little pressure with my milder razors, as much as I love their performance and feel.

Today will be a pretty dead day at work, a true get over the hump day in every sense. I’m OK with that though!

Im a few episodes in to rewatching Star Trek:TNG now, it has been a kick in the pants! The first season is a lot more racy than I remember!

Happy Hump Day folks!

Hahahahaha...great stuff about TNG. Always a fun show to re-hash. Nice shave with the Piccolo today, sounds like you'll have it down by the end of the week.

I need to rewatch TNG myself. Was my favorite show back when it was on. I'm sure I don't remember most of it, especially that early stuff.

Absolutely! And to be able to watch the characters and actors develop in quick fashion, even better!
