Shave #276 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:
Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, CBL Oud Minerale soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and YSL Rive Gauche to finish!
Missus got home safely last night after a long drive home. Went out to the same ramen house as last week’s dinner out for a good, warming meal in the chilly night. In all a good day.
Great shave this morning with a solid lineup. Chris’ original artisan base has to be one of the best smelling bases I’ve ever had to date and it does it’s job remarkably well…too that off with a Oud Minerale scent profile…magnifico! I thought about topping off with TF Oud Minerale frag but Rive Gauche was staring at me from out of my small full-sized frag collection, calling my name. So I answered! Yummy!
Church this morning and then some more family time before the missus heads out again up north tomorrow for school.

Off to a busy Monday morning already. Woke up earlier than normal to get the truck into the shop for some TLC. Back to home to get the kids off to school. Work. Pick up the missus and take her to the airport this afternoon…it begins!

Gear: Henson Medium Alu, Astra SS blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Invictus to finish!
Busy day yesterday doing at the running around for the missus and kids and still trying to squeeze in some work.
Great shave this morning…yep the Proraso Red soap is still going strong! With the hard water here though, it just has absolutely no residual slickness. The AS is at about 35/40% left.
Got my second free Orangetheory class this evening, after I get the kids squared away for dinner. Hoping I can do better this time around, just gotta pace myself. After the last workout my legs didn’t feel back to normal for about two and a half days
Hoping to recover much faster this time

Great shave! i always wondered about the head geometry of this razor- is it easy to find the correct angle?
I’m impressed with the orange theory classes - they look tough !

The razor head is fairly intuitive IMO but the cutting planes are rounded a bit so it can be easy to lose the angle and need to readjust occasionally if you zone out.
Orangetheory classes are considered a type of HIIT workout I think, so massive focus on cardio and stamina training, not so much in strength. It’s tough for sure!

Well, I was able to set a much better pace and energy output and survived the work out last night! Didn’t pass out, walked out under my own power, and my legs aren’t useless this morning
Got a pretty decent nights rest last night and had a good shave this morning with some clean smelling scent profiles. Ready to see what the day holds!

Been looking forward to today! The missus returns this afternoon! My truck should also be done at the shop today…having gone through its 150k maintenance. Bit of a hefty bill, having taken it to the dealership instead of a independent repair shop, but I had some recalls to get done too.
Good shave this morning. No complaints, except that this Proraso Red is still hanging around

Missus is home safely, truck is back in business (55 hundred dollar bill, ouch)…and today is Friday! Woohoo!
Feelin a bit groggy this morning but the great shave gave me a leg to stand on. Pulled out The Stallion which hasn’t seen the light of day for months. Maybe not the most unified pairing with Profondo, but good enough!
Finished the night yesterday with dinner out at Finney’s so we could watch the Giants and Dodgers play…ugh Giants, so close. A number of questionable calls by the umps but it is what it’s is.
