Shave #105 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Henson Medium Alu, Gillette Platinum blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and GFT Leather cologne to finish!

And now...a word for our sponsors: Thank You Coffee!

Busy day today and tomorrow. Last work shift of the week starts in a bit. Bible study in the middle of that. Mentoree meeting this afternoon. Tomorrow I have to knock out yardwork, then it’s over to my aunt’s house to begin taking off some baseboards and hardware so she can paint, then another mentoree meeting. Hoping for some much needed sleep somewhere in there 😂

Have a great Thursday all!

Shave #106 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Proline blade, SV/TSC Il Re Tasso d’Oro brush, SV 70th soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

One of my favorite setups!

Started my 3 day weekend off with quite a bang. Up at a decent hour to get the kids in school. A couple hours of yard work. Off to my aunt’s house to spend a couple hours removing baseboards and various fixture hardware.

Finally had some time to clean up just now. And what a very nice, too notch clean up it was!

Now off to my other mentoree meeting.

Hope the weekend is off to a good start for y’all too!

Shave #107 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Proline blade, Sorrentino TSC 1st Anniversary badger brush, CBL Hombres MB soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Speick AS, and Royall Rugby to finish!

Great morning so far. Woke up earlier than I hoped, at least it wasn’t alarm-driven. Grabbed a nice breakfast to share with the missus at home from a good local joint.

2/2 for superb Vector shaves. Even less than 18 hours later, with a light hand, the Vector proves it can indeed be a daily shaver with some good handling. Really enjoyed the Hombres scent this shave. It’s grown on me greatly.

Some chores and writing to take care of today. Then I get to spend some time continuing my foray into the FFVII Remake story, which has been great so far! I have Days Gone and Mass Effect Andromeda waiting anxiously in the wings too for when that finishes.

Have a great Saturday all!

Shave #108 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Proline blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm badger brush, Clown Puke tub soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, WSP Mahogany AS, and Tom Ford Oud Wood to finish!

Nice, slow moving morning leading up to services.

Another day with the Vector/Proline combo, to cap off a solid 3 day stretch of superb shaves on all counts. If I wasn’t so afraid of giving myself a facelift in my morning rushes during the week to get to work, I’d be mighty tempted to pull a Bruce and use the Vector daily. Thankfully I like my work week razors too, though maybe not quite as much.

Today was my first use of a WSP product. The AS formula itself feels pretty good on the face; I probably used about 6 drops or so, not being familiar with it’s characteristics yet...it does dry pretty quickly so I almost didn’t spread it on quickly enough. I’ll remember that for next time - a little more wetness on the face and maybe a few more drops added to the palm. The scent though...hooooo! Quality scent for an AS IMO, pretty much Fine level without the alcohol burn and menthol. Mahogany is a rich, sweet, woody scent. It almost carries off an aged wood. It smelled almost familiar to me and it didn’t hit me till I was trying to decide on a frag...it is reminiscent of TF Oud Wood! So naturally I had to follow up with a couple spritzes of that! Yum!

Finally posted a WTB for a Brass General, you probably have seen by now. I’m promising myself I’ll be patient and wait for the right deal...we’ll see 😂

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Shave #109 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Henson Alu Medium, Gillette Platinum blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Hugo Boss to finish!

Back to the grind for the 5-1-5 work week and the faux 3017 shave kit!

Come on coffee...work your magic!

Hope y’all have a great Monday.

Shave #111 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Schick M Adjustable injector, Gillette Schick Twin blade, Stirling 2-band synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Zaharoff to finish!

Switched up to the oh so smooth Schick M. Lovely shave!

Not sure how I haven’t broken through to the bottom of this soap yet...still a long ways to go on the sides but the middle should at least be close!

Busy busy. Thankfully I’ve finished writing my teaching for tomorrow. I can chill after work this evening.

Hope you all have a great Hump Day!

Shave #113 (459 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Parker Adjustable injector, Tactonic blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ Pony synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and GFT Leather cologne to finish!

Off to a good start. Coffee is pumping through my veins!

Two shifts till a day off. Bible study later this morning. Mentoree meeting later this afternoon.

Have a great Thursday all!

The Keurig wasn't working this morning, and I opted to skip caffeine altogether rather than suffer through the rancid swill from the vending machine at work. Interestingly enough, it worked fine when I got home, so I made up for lost time lol.

Never heard of this one. How does it compare to Schick's?
Definitely takes a few shaves to smooth out; probably still never reaches Chick level of smoothness. It’s better than Personna though, gets the job done, and lasts a good number of shaves in the Parker 👍

Probably a wise choice lol! Office swill is usually far below substandard in my neck of the woods. Folgers...blech!
