If you have to do something...

I was ok with vaccines because mom would take me out for a hamburger and shake after. It was great even if I couldn't lift the arm I got the shot in.

Love the confirmation project. Half my family was baptist, the other half Russian Orthodox, and I turned out a Vedantist.

My old girlfriend was Episcopalian, and she compared it to Catholicism as having all the ritual and none of the guilt. The thing I liked about it was that there was a book so I, raised a Baptist, could follow along. I taught at a Jesuit Prep School for a few years, and loved when they would do Mass in Latin. The first few times, I was lost, but with some study, I got to where I could keep track of what was going on.

Hah! Yea, the heavily confessional and liturgical side of the Church can take a little while to catch on to. It can seem complicated and involved but really they pretty much do the same thing every Sunday.

Ah yes...the old bribery technique 😂. My kids got Starbucks this last time.

Well aren’t you just the black sheep of the family? 😂

I've always heard it referred to as "Catholic Lite". 😁
Pretty accurate! 😂

Shave #311 (452 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Schick M adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, Proraso Red soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe blend, Proraso Red AS, and ADP Colonia Intensia to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 236:

Off to a good day so far!

Nice woodsy Italian barbershop-ish shave today. This Twin blade is still chugging along, not sure how many shaves it has on it. I should find a back up M at some point. I’m fairly certain that and the Tech will be my Old Man shavers down the road.

Gotta start on the lawn watering today. Some more writing to take care of. New episodes of Mandalorian and British Baking Show are in the docket later with the family. Other than that, not much else planned!

Have a great Friday all!

Have a great day, Chris!!

I just got caught up on the Mandalorian this week... stopped watching after 4 episodes because my wife wasn’t into it. Took me almost a year but burned through the rest of season 1 the past few days and the first of season 2 early this morning ... Great show!

Yea, they’ve really done a great job so far!

Shave #312 (452 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Schick M adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere MB soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe blend, Slin Bracer AS, and CK BE to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 237:

Great Saturday so far. Slept in then got up and got chores going at a leisurely pace.

Fantastic shave. Was worried after I cleaned out the Schick M yesterday that I might have messed up the Twin blade edge...but after a few strokes all was well. The blade did struggle a little rounding over the stubborn chin hairs the first pass but it was totally smooth sailing after that. Can’t go wrong with a slash of Skin Bracer to help close things out, plus it helps tone down some of the perfumey edge of the CK BE!

Going to try and head in to the local Warby Parker to get my glasses adjust a little bit, I noticed they do tend to put a little too much pressure around the temple/sideburn area. I could try my hand at home (they suggest a warm water + bending method) but I’d rather it be the professional’s fault if something goes awry 😂

Have a great Saturday all!

Nice shave Chris. I’ve been seeing a lot of love for the twin blade, do you know of a good source to pick some up?

Thanks John! Sadly, no. I got these as part of a razor trade in which I received the M. I think what’s left of the Twin stock is dwindling fast (mostly just available on the ‘Bay) and will soon be gone for good.

Yikes! I’d better get to searching then! Thanks you the info!

Corona Virus Official Day 238:

Up a bit early. I do have today off from work but we are going to a service. Thai will be the first time we’ve all been back together for church as a family. Usually the kids have been staying home, except for youth small group nights, while Kristen and I work the services. I was surprised to hear a bit of complaining when we told them since they haven’t been in 8 months but it’s whatever, we’re going. 😂

Great shave this morning with an Oud Minerale combo. Tom Ford really hit this and Ombré Leather out of the park...Oud Wood ain’t too shabby either...just a pipe dream that I could get a full bottle of them at some point though. 🤑

Not much else happening today. Just soaking in some family time.

Have a blessed Sunday all!
