If you have to do something...

Shave #266 (440 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, CBL Grassroots Lavender soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe blend, Speick AS, Myrsol K AS, and Atelier Vanille Insensee to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 191:

Roused myself at a decent hour. Felt wrong out and grungy though. That DFS from yesterday was no bueno. Between it itching from wearing a mask all day and just feeling the stubble on my face...ugh.

Flipped the script and started my day with a shower n shave. Even though it is a day off and the Feather was staring at me from the sidelines, I kept the Vector in the ring but swapped out everything else. Felt the need to spend more time with my badgers this week, since synths are so faceroll easy, so subbed in the Paladin. Loaded the Grassroots a bit longer today (though the Grassroots is a bit softer than the MB line I think) with the brush a bit wetter. Have to get past the meager loading thing...I’ve got a ton of soap sitting around. Great results today though I’d say! Went a little more aggressive on the final pass over the upper lip area, angling the XTG a little more toward ATG than yesterday. Definitely made a noticeable difference! A couple angry spots on the skin, but I’d say sufficiently BBS at the same time. Happy about that!

Helping kids with school now that I’ve got a cup of coffee in me. Let’s do this day!

Have a great Tuesday all!

Shave #267 (440 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Sorrentino TSC 1st Anniversary badger brush, Stirling Hipster soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe blend, Stirling Hipster AS, and Black Amber Agonist clone oil to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 192:

I’m up! I’m up. Another shave in the books and a cup of coffee fueling the body!

Good shave today. Brought out the Sorrentino to play with again. It’s shedding less than it used to but still about a hair per use...beautiful brush though and decent knot. It had little issue otherwise, whipping up the Hipster. Some of y’all must load heavy indeed...getting 30-40 shaves from a Stirling tub...I’ve used mine at least 15 times, each shave a good one, and it looks like I’ve only just made a dent in the soap! Anyway, just and observation. :ROFLMAO:

Off to work in a minute. Church small groups later this evening. Should be a decent day!

Have a great Wednesday all...you’re half way to the weekend!

You ain't gonna use it up loading 10 seconds at a time! Most of the time I'm going at least 30 seconds...after dropping it in a gallon of water to soften it up! 🤪
I keep telling myself longer...every time I try, the warning bells go off in my brain and my meiserliness kicks in. 😂

I typically load for 30 seconds and Stirling says you can get 30 shaves out of a sample. I don’t know how someone can knock out a full tub in 30-35 days. The numbers just don’t add up for me.
I’d believe that! Yea, some folks just seem to burn through their soaps. Something to aspire to maybe? It means more new soaps sooner right? 😂
Full body shaves?
Or maybe the dog needs shaving...🤔
Load up for bear Chris. This is ‘Merica. There is never too much. 😉

Shave #268 (441 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Feather AC SS folding, Feather Pro blade, Schick M adjustable injector, Schick Twin blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, LNHC Barber Shoppe soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe blend, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Penhaligon’s Sartorial clone oil to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 193:

Got to sleep in a little this morning. That was nice. Wife had to go out to some meetings though so I got up and took over monitoring the student prisoners and their Zoom schedules. Took some time for a cup of cold brew and also some time to wash the doggies.

After all that fuss and with the kids in their meetings, I took some time for myself to shower n shave. Decodes to give the Paladin a chance on the LNHC. In the past I’ve felt this particular soap formula was just too sticky for a badger to work (also a danger to the brush of its a shedder). The Paladin has been the sturdiest of my knots so far, so I made an attempt with a semi-wet brush. I loaded fairly long, at least 30 seconds, but being careful not to mash it too much. It felt after about 15 seconds that I wasn’t really grabbing much though, even with a little added water. I worked up a slick but flat/thin lather...it just didn’t want to volumize though no matter how much I worked it. Put the Feather Pro back in the SS and went to work anyway. The shave ended up good but the lather stayed that same flat/thin consistency throughout the shave. I’ll just have to stick to my synths with this particular formula.

Mentor meeting later today and needing to spend some more time planning out my SIL’s wedding service, which I’m finding out it to be non-religious. I’m OK with doing that, just unfamiliar territory...going to be a challenge coming up with good, meaningful, memorable content.

Have a great Thursday all!
