Once more ‘round the block? Up n at em again!
Nice shave to wake me up this morning. Definitely a little bleary eyed. 3 great passes though thanks to the Vector, while catching up on a couple shave videos. This clone oil was a nice decision for the day!
Still moderately smokey air. Haven’t yet had to worry over the dry lightning storms that were forecasted, thankfully. At this point it would just make more fire issues.
Today could be my last shift till Sunday...we’ll see!

Once more ‘round the block? Up n at em again!

I got to sleep in a bit today! Woohoo!
Nice cleansing shower to kick off the day and a fantastic shave. CBL SIR Fougere tonsorial continues to impress mightily. I don’t know what it is about this beta puck...but it’s gangbusters in the lather department! 3 very nice passes. Brought back out the GC .68 today and even with a decently used Astra, it performed admirably. Topped off with Royall Rugby...yummy!
My SV brush should be delivered today! So excited! Going to film a short unboxing, then promptly put it through Dave’s gel/de-funk process. There will definitely be a shave video at some point this week I’m thinking!

It’s in his video today, like 1/3 the way through or some such. Gonna look again later but I think it was: 5-10 minute soak in distilled white vinegar, a good soak/rinse in Dawn water, then a very heavy lathering with a lanolin shave soap, let sit for 12-24 hours, then wash out and use. Repeat of not gelled to liking.
I did, too. Though I didn't mean to.
Hooray for sleeping in! Looks like you've had some pretty decent shaves. Keep it up, mister!

Gear: Feather AC SS folding, Feather Pro blade, RR GC .68, Astra SP blade, Sorrentino TSC 1st Anniversary badger brush, Clown Puke tub soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Fine Platinum AS, and Fine Platinum EDT to finish!

Grateful for this period of time, as strange as it is, where life has slowed down some and I can spend more time with family and get much needed rest.
Nice shave this morning with a proven setup. Fresh Astra SP in the GC .68 was much better. Used the original formula Platinum for a good menthol hit. The Clown Puke tub soap scent is just so fantastically unique and enjoyable.
Air quality today is the best it has been in the last week’s time. Currently Sunday service is still green lit to happen. Temps have been fairly manageable, capping around the mid 90s but falling to a very comfortable mid 60s at night/early morning.
Teaching children self control in the digital age is quite the uphill battle.

Was up a bit early to take one of the boys to pick up their school stuff. Another 5 days and it’s back to the grind for them...and us by default too.
Great shave this morning. Another proven setup. Really wanted to try the 4711 samples Todd @elmerPHuD sent along. Normally I’d do a video for something like this but one of the doggies was feeling brave and chewed up the power cord for the laptop I use to publish, so I need to go find a replacement. Anyway...I’d never tried this classic aftershave and EDT. I would place this along the lines of what I understand a kolonia to be and Florida Water. Fairly sure it’s a heavy alcohol splash with some fragrances. When I applied the AS I was almost immediately reminded of Speick with a little more of a fruity/citrus vibe (kinda like Fruity Pebbles). Same for the EDT except it’s less sharp than the AS. Really nice, inoffensive scent. Sadly even with a heavy application of both, it was reduced to a skin scent within a couple minutes. The skin scent is nice though, pleasant, fresh, a tad citrusy-floral. I could spray and enjoy this all day I think and no one would be the wiser! If I can find it locally, I may just pick up a bottle of the AS.
