Shave #170 (413 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, LNHV Barber Shoppe, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Penhaligon’s Sartorial clone oil to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 95:

Keepin it brief. Already at work, doin mah thang.

Nice refreshing shower n shave this morning, though I’m still tired and my body has been achy. I don’t think I’m going to use my badgers for Lisa’s soaps anymore. I love Lisa’s and it gives a great shave, but I think the initial “stickiness” and work needed to get the lather there feels like it puts a lot of jostling and pull on the natural hairs. It’s not a nock on anything, just a personal decision. Still enjoying cold/cool water shaves, though gone back to warm water for at least rinsing the razor as needed during the shave.

Steadily making progress on the campus cleaning at work. It’s gone a little slower than expected, we’re at least a day behind from my best case scenario projections...but gotta get it done right, right? Doesn’t help that one part timer is on bed rest and one full timer has some headache issues requiring shortened shifts for the time being. Guess who gets to pick up the slack! 😅

Looking forward to the weekend.

Have a great Thursday all!

Keep doing your thaaaaang, Chris. I always appreciate it when my captain steps in to help us pick up the slack when we're worn down and broken. Keep it up.

Yea Chris. Foul odor is a big indicator that a individual is no longer "among us". Or they just came out of that CHAZ place in Seattle.

Shave #171 (413 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, CBL SIR Fougere tonsorial, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Old Spice AS, and Stirling Glastonbury EDT to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 96:

TGIF! I am totally wiped this morning.

Totally different scent profile today from the last few shaves. I promised myself I’d bring out the Old Spice and Glastonbury some time soon, as it’d been a while since their last use. No disappointments, love the scents, but we’ll see how heavy the scent lies over the heat of the day.

Well, with today’s shift, the week will have finished up pretty strongly. Overall we’ll still have remained a bit behind, especially since there are 3 people out today due to various things. Thankfully we have another week to prepare the campus. It won’t take the whole time though. If we can have a couple good days Monday and Tuesday, we may be able to take a couple days rest before the opening weekend hits.

Looking forward to end of shift today for sure.

Have a great Friday all!

Shave #172 (413 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, SV 70th, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 97:

Sleep in semi successful. I got woken up abruptly by noises of hacking and high speed expelling of stomach contents from one of the pooches. Thankfully she made it to the tiled area by the back, so it was relatively easy cleanup.

Couldn’t nod off again, so I had myself a cup o iced coffee (we’ve been favoring Stok, lightly sweetened cold brew) with a shot of heavy whipping cream. Then I went out and washed the dogs and started the lawn watering.

Came back inside and had my shave. SV 70th was the order of the day. Wish I had other SV combos to mix in, but some serious den clearing needs to happen before that. I don’t really need anything new in terms of soaps, AS, or frags for a good long while otherwise. Same goes for razors and brushes really, though I’m making the obvious singular exception for the TSC/SV team up brush.

More watering and some laundry to do, otherwise a free day. A local custom jewelry artisan and friend dropped off and presented my wife’s Mother’s Day/early birthday gift this morning - a custom gold and moonstone chain with representation of the children by gold tags. A very nice, delicate piece, which she loves, created with some of her input in mind.
