If you have to do something...

I think we all attach ourselves to certain brands of soaps that are good but not great. Not for any particular reason. There are just far too many out there to be fans of all of them.

Great stuff Chris! I only have one SC soap (two inbound), Endurance, and it's about the same as Stirling for me for performance. I think I have it scored about 1 point lower, but that's splitting hairs, honestly. I can say that I do enjoy using it when it gets pulled out, though that's not as often as it should be. Happy Birthday to SWMBO, sounds like it was a great time!

Thanks Josh! The day was a success, she was well pampered and had some relaxing time.

Catching up sorta. Great Shaves Chris and please keep that heat over there !!!

Thanks Dave! Not in a sharing mood eh? ?

Glad you got a good shave with the Soap Commander. Keep at it! It is truly a great soap!

Just kidding Chad. It’s grown on me some since it’s first outing!

Too true Dave!

....Soap Commander....Still not a fan of their vegan base. It has some good in-shave slickness, but something about the lather still feels only a step above middling, not great or exceptional....

I completely agree with you on Soap Commander. Certainly not a bad soap...just not as good as what Chad makes it to be. I know to each his own...but kind of middle of the road for me...maybe a little better....

I'm with you guys on this, in terms of performance. I really do want to love Soap Commander shaving soaps, but with the water at my house, they tend to be mid Tier 1 at best; they just can't quite make it to the "elite" category, as much I try and hope. I feel bad, in a way, because some of their scents are down-right dynamite, and they're customer service is second-to-none! Now, in all fairness, I've taken them on the road with me several times, and where the water is harder than what I have at home, the performance has cracked elite status, but alas, just not at home.

I will say though, that their bath/bar soaps are OUTSTANDING!

Shave #122:

Post-yardwork facework!

Gear is back to the usual until Wednesday: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (22 - yes I forgot to swap it again), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and homemade Brut AS decant to close.

My boys and I got out to do the yardwork this morning just before it started heating up for the day. The missus remarked yesterday that I should have them help me, so that they did.

Kept them outside for about an hour doing some hand trimming of longer grass along the fences. (Yep, I’m that dad)

While they enjoyed a little game time as a reward. I enjoyed freshening up with my shave! Loaded heavy, rich lather, easy strokes, lather soak, some dashes of AS liberally applied...good shave!

Dishes done, laundry going, and relaxation for the rest of the afternoon!

Hope Monday is treating y’all well.

Snap infraction. 5 yard penalty from the previous spot. Replay the down.

(FYI THE WORST SIGNAL that a referee uses also!)
HAHAHAHA!!! I was wondering if they could do something like that, and why we wouldn't see it from time to time.

Shave #123:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (1 - thank you for reminding me Dave!), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and RR The Stallion to finish.

Not a bad shave today; just a few scrapes, as much my fault as simply dealing with a hyper sharp new blade (Dave’s fault! ?).

I think, after this month, I’m going to find a way to incorporate my DEs back into the rotation. I have 95 Astra SPs and 6 razors I’m ignoring for the most part! Unacceptable!

Today is the start of my work week, but I do get tomorrow off, that’s kind of fun!

Enjoy your Tuesday friends!

I know of a good club that will gladly send you new multi-blade cartridges every month for the nice dull, whisker pulling feeling. No need to deal with pesky sharp blades ever again. I feel terrible I put you through that.
