If you have to do something...

Heh, that stupid commercial. Made me laugh though.

I hear you about the balance of life/work. My dad retired from a life-time in the ministry just a few years ago. Not so much with overlapping at the church, but he tried to protect home life as much as he could. But in small communities, it wasn't unusual for people to approach him when we were out and about to discuss things. He tried pretty hard to protect who had his home number too, but caller ID and cell phones helped with that.

Yep, work like that is pretty much a lifetime of giving, but the rewards after it’s all said and done are beyond measure.

Nice shave. I hope that you get the GC with the handle you want.

Thanks Doug. I will eventually!

Nice write-up Chris...hopefully you'll be able to find a more stable work/life balance soon. Have to agree with Doug that you'll get your GC handle eventually!

Sounds like another good shave.

If you had used a traditional straight instead of the SS, you wouldn't have had that tiny weeper. ;-) /ducks, runs

Thanks Josh! I know I will!

Lol, perhaps! I still say that, for the most part, each is forgiving and harsh in their own ways.

That'll work!

Thanks Chris!

Nice shave Chris!

I have always did my best not to let work spill over into the personal life. I'm sure with your profession that is harder than mine! Good luck on scoring the razor your want. Sometimes it just takes patience.

Shave #118:

You know the drill!

Gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (18), RR Big Bruce, wait for it....TOBS Sandalwood, and RR The Stallion to finish.

Actually a pretty easy and nice shave today...until that last stroke of the last pass. Heir Murphy was nice (?) enough to hold off until then, when:

Ohhhh, bad touch down! I chased a little bit of stubble on the very tip of my chin, but instead of covering the area with a full stroke, I thought I’d be smart and just go right for the little sucker. Wrong move! I knew as soon as it happened; I got the hair, then took the razor off and applied alum immediately. I’ll be sporting that stripe for the next week!

Honestly I don’t mind the occasional cuts though, the shaves are worth it!

In other things, music camp wraps up at the church tomorrow. So preparations are under way for the evening performance and all the children are excited/embarrassed/anxious to show off what they’ve learned over the week to the parents. Ice cream party follows. Tomorrow will be fun! For today though, work!

Now I know why Murphy didn't show up at my place today...sorry about that! Good shave otherwise Chris!

As they say, anybody that claims to shave with a straight razor and says they've never been cut, will probably lie to you about other things too.

Bummer about the Mr. M visit. Great shave else wise.

I wouldn’t doubt it!

Thanks Craig!

Did someone say, "ice cream"?

Gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (19), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and Pinaud Clubman cut decant to close.

No bad touchdowns today. Huzzah!

Nice and easy 3 pass. The lather was a little off today; as the cream left gets smaller, it’s begun to harden up. It’s basically a soap now lol. So I did have some invisible tenderness on the cheeks from my ATG (the age of the blade definitely was a factor as well, though it is still very comfortable for each other pass). I put a little extra into the skin stretching for closer results.

I hit about 98% BBS today, the rest being DFS.

Looking forward to the music camp performance tonight. I’m gonna sneak in for a bit of course to watch, since two of my kids are participating.

Gotta push through the next two shifts, then it’s Sunday and freedom!
