Shave #115:

Back life, back to reality...back to TOBS.

Today’s gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (15), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and RR The Stallion to finish.

Great, refreshing 3 pass after yardwork this morning. No mishaps in the transition back from two days of a regular SR.

Any of you guys that like AdP Oud, I don’t know if you knew, but RR The Stallion is inspired by it. It never registered for me (in the last 3/4 year I've had it) that this was an oud scent, mostly cause I didn’t know what that was lol. I really dig the strength of the the scent for and AS; it’s deeply manly with a touch of sophistication. I guess I’m an oud lover too after all.

In other things, like I said, yardwork today. I even got the oldest out for a bit, trimming the weeds and grass around SWMBO’s garden. He was rewarded with a little game time.

I downloaded the boys the Fortnite game to the Nintendo Switch. It will be their reward/bribe for not lazing about the house every day. It’s a fun game (PUBG is still better in my opinion) and the parental controls thankfully limit their interactions with other folks. They aren’t ready to hear a full barrage of gamer angst, gamer rage, or cyber bullying yet.

Relaxation is the order for the remainder of the day!

Happy Monday all!

Oh Fortnite, a staple in our house now. It is an interesting game, I can't seem to ever hit anyone though! The Switch has always interested me, but then I see the price and forget about it for 6 months.

Excellent reward for the kids for a hard days work!
Great stuff Chris, and good deal on the switch game as a reward for hard work!!

Thanks gentlemen! Always have to provide a little light at the end of the tunnel for the kids, even if they only have to do a quick chore, lol.

We hadn’t had any plans to get the switch really, the last console we had was a Wii, so we were pretty outdated. My parents though got it for the kids a one big Christmas present last year. It’s pretty fun, classic Nintendo style stuff.

I was a pretty big gamer in my younger years and still dabble. The game is quite frantic even for me and takes some getting used to.

Second verse, same as the first...I’m Henery the Eighth I am...uh, I mean, not much to see today.

Gear for the shave: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (16), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and homemade Brut AS decant.

Quiet morning, just me and the oldest as the other two boys are at church music camp and the missus is at a meeting. Good time for a shower n shave!

Easy 3 pass, one little spot of irritation on the upper neck, behind the jaw, where I scraped a bit on a stroke. Otherwise, 95% BBS.

The TOBS is dwindling little by little. Hoping it’s finished within a month’s time. Bear in mind as you see this photo, when I started the 3017, I could only barely see a hint of the bottom. Now, there’s light at the end of the tunnel!

Back to work today and the glorious sounds of a hundred children banging on things, singing, playing instruments, and enjoying themselves!

Happy Tuesday!

Nice stuff Chris! You're doing a job on the TOBS! It'll be gone in no time.

Ah yes...the din of screaming joy...

Light at the end of the tunnel - yes! Are you planning on 3017ing another soap, or go the variety route?

Thanks Josh. Haha, thankfully they’re only there part of my shift. The evenings will be about dead quiet.

I think I’ll do variety for a good bit. I only really 3017ed this one because it’s my oldest soap (3 years) and I had gotten so far with it already.

Great couple of shaves and reads Chris!

Hmmm I've got some RR Stallion, haven't used it in a while, maybe time to dig it out soon.

Oh yeah since you brought it up and now it's stuck in my head.

Some great shaves Chris! That GD mod is a beauty! The detail work on the tang looks fantastic. My nephew has been playing Fortnite, and he couldn't stop talking about it last week lol.

Thanks Eric!

Yes, the kids have talked about Fortnite since they were able to play a couple times at a friend’s house. It’s an obsession for quite a few kids now.

Mike...Mike, Mike, Mike...guess what day it is? Guess what day it is?! Hump day...whoop whoop!

Headed our early today with the missus and boys, to go early with them to the morning portion of music camp. Set the alarm with just enough time to freshen up and do a reasonably quick 3 pass.

Today’s gear: Feather AC SS, Pro blade (17), RR Big Bruce, TOBS Sandalwood, and cut Pinaud Clubman decant to close.

Nothing big to report shave-wise. Only had one small dot of leakage on the chin where the blade dug a millisecond ATG. Thanks goodness for a light touch!

Overall BBS/DFS.

In other things, as I mentioned, I came to the church early this morning. I try not to do it overly much. One of the “negative” things about working at the place where you do a lot of life outside the home is that you can literally get “stuck” at work all day, multiple days a week. It can wear a bit sometimes! I think I shouldnt feel that way and I’m working on changing my attitude there. It is my church after all. I think I do feel that way because I’ve always kept work and private life totally separate, that’s more difficult to do now though when it’s where I work, minister, and do some life.

I forgot to mention, no RR GC luck. Plenty of opportunities for the Handled I don’t want, but for some reason Joe just seems to keep the Barber Pole stock numbers low or they really are just that popular.

It’s my Tuesday, but you all go ahead and enjoy your early happy hump day everybody!

Heh, that stupid commercial. Made me laugh though.

I hear you about the balance of life/work. My dad retired from a life-time in the ministry just a few years ago. Not so much with overlapping at the church, but he tried to protect home life as much as he could. But in small communities, it wasn't unusual for people to approach him when we were out and about to discuss things. He tried pretty hard to protect who had his home number too, but caller ID and cell phones helped with that.
