If you have to do something...

Nice shave.

I saw Solo this weekend. I really enjoyed it. It was a decent story, but the excitement was a bit lacking.

Nice read as always, and have yet to see Solo or Avengers.. It is on the List but I can highly recommend Deadpool 2

I tried to watch the first one; it had some good action and some funny parts, but the adult banter was a good bit over my threshold. I get that that’s kind of DPs domain in the comics though. Ryan Reynolds does fit the role perfectly however lol.

Hey!!!, I have done it once, LOL
So many movies out... I need to get caught up on!

What was the last one you saw in theaters?

Great shave and read Chris!

Thanks Craig!

Thanks Doug!

I’m glad you liked the movie! It did have some really well done elements. It will be interesting to see how future films play out the big surprise at the end. I don’t think they can leave it in the air like that for long, but I haven’t seen any spin offs slated yet, not even for Lando.

Just catching up Chris. Some really nice shaves in there. As well as movie reviews! I'm a huge Star Wars nerd (as you already know) and I think I've been more excited about Solo than any other movie coming out this year. I'm kind of concerned with the lackluster reactions to it though. As for Infinity Wars, I still have a couple of other Marvel movies to catch up on before I see that one.

You, as a big fan, should definitely go see them before they leave the theater! If nothing else, Solo provides some bit of great interest for the franchise. Definitely get caught up before watching Infinity War, you don’t want to be missing any details. A ton of threads get woven together for the movie.

I have heard mixed reviews as well, I will see it and hope it harkens back a bit to a New Hope, as long as a Certain "Christina" leave the franchise there may be a good future. At least it is a Ron Howard Film

Nice shave Chris...I'll be interested in your thoughts on the Veg when you get to it at the end of the week!

Haven't gotten the chance to see DP2 or Solo, yet, but we should get the opportunity here in the coming weeks.

Just got caught up. Not a Star Wars fan.

Happy to hear that I'm not the only "adult" who doesn't really enjoy being pummeled by "adult words" at the theater or at home in my living room. I think Amazon, HBO, et al. get a little carried away. Just because you are allowed to say the "F word" doesn't mean you have to have it said 50 times in every episode of every show. /rant

Good shaves, though. Sounds like you and the Feather are getting along just fine.

I don’t know about harkening back, but it certainly fills in some blanks! Could be good or bad depending on how you like the Disney direction.

Fear and trepidation are good initial thoughts! ?

Agreed.

What kind of movies is the good doctor into if not the greatest space series of all time? ?

Shave #90:

Ten more to go, technically, I think it will still be another 100 before I truly master ATG strokes though.

Just a small entry today.

TOBS Sandalwood again, just a simple 2 pass, settled for BBS/DFS. Trying to make it to the end of the month without changing blades. Something miserly in me wants to hang on to as much of the “saving money” aspect of traditional shaving as possible. That’s hard at times without a little resulting skin irritation lol!

Nothing my Pinaud original concoction can’t help cure though, being lightly cut with witch hazel and alcohol.

Great shave. How many shaves on the blade?

Over at that other site they had a club devoted to getting the longest life possible out of a blade. I only ever got up to a month, but some guys got hundreds of good shaves from a blade. They can be made to last a long, long time.

BBS/DFS isn't anything to shake a stick at...nice shave! If getting the most longevity out of your blades is something you take pleasure from and are willing to put up with the tiny bit of additional irritation, go for it!

Caught up on some good stuff, Chris!

Speaking as a dyed-in-the-wool 44-year-old lifelong Star Wars fan/geek/nerd, I have to say that I loved every moment of Solo. There was so much service to the fans as far as plot points that had been hinted about in the old Legends timeline (all the Extended Universe stuff before Disney took over). That being said, I cannot begrudge anyone who didn't enjoy it, as we all have differing expectations. For me though, and my son, it was the most fun Star Wars film I have seen in awhile.

I have about 16 days on both the Astra SP and Feather Pro, which is my usual before binning. The Feather is still doing OK, the Astra has been passed around between a few razors though which might account for the more worn edge feel.

That’s true. I’m trying to learn not to be so OCD about my shaves since switching to daily. I was pretty anal about obtaining complete BBS in shaving every other day because it had to last longer.

That old extended universe is what I’m most torn over with the Disney takeover. There was so much good content that could have easily set up the franchise for many decades of film and still made them loads of money despite royalties. Every time the new films hint at things from extended lore, I almost hate to buy into what they might be selling, because I know it isn’t going to be what I grew up imagining.

I really wish Lucas had gotten farther, earlier with the franchise after Return of the Jedi. Episodes 1-3 would have probably been done much better and some backstories might have been set in a way that made more sense.

I like comedies, adventures, and dramas. Not too keen on superheroes, sci-fi, or fantasy.

Nice shave, Chris. I have yet to see Infinity War, though it isn't from lack of trying lol. Hopefully I'll get to it before it heads to DvD.
