If you have to do something...

At least you gave it a whirl. I realized it just isn't for me and the SMWBO was not a fan. It does pair nice with Tabac which brings it to a different direction. ?

This is all that is needed, information wise, to determine if you are chosen. The vote of SWMBO trumps all.

Great write-up today Chris, and good shave as well!
Ye are not chosen! A valiant effort.

Thanks guys! It’s fun to do things like this occasionally, even if you have an inkling they are doomed to fail.

I wonder what the next feat to attempt is?

My wife did happen to get a whiff before she headed out on her trip. She said “You smell sweaty.” Then she realized I had shaved and said “Is that supposed to be a scent?”

I said “It’s the Lilac Vegtal scent”. To which she crinkled her nose and walked away. Lol.

That is hilarious! Both my wife and daughter had the same reaction.

Only thing worse would be Arko followed by the Veg! Oy!

Just catching up on some great shaves Chris! I'm looking forward to seeing how your transition to straights goes over the course of the month.

As for the TabacaVeg, now that I've read your experience....I'm 100% fine with never actually smelling this myself!

And one more note on the Star Wars discussion: There's a show on Netflix (whose name escapes me) about toys and their history. The only episode I watched so far was all about Star Wars and Kenner. Apparently the reason that it took so long for the prequels to come out, was the fact that Lucas had such an awful deal with Kenner that he didn't want to release anything new until the deal was over. He was getting 5 cents on the dollar I think. Then the deal expired (which I believe was on a random goof, not due to a time expiration) and he was free to make a new deal. The prequels came out very shortly after.... I probably explained that all wrong, but the general idea is there haha.

Hmm, so it starts like cat pee and mellos out to sweat stink.

Nice shave.

Sorry that you weren't chosen.

I didn’t choose the unchosen life, the chosen life chose not to choose me. ?

Good to know I’m not the only man shunned due to Tabacaveg!

The proclaimed urinal cake of soaps and The Veg...you may be on to something! I’ll have to try some Arko soon!

Oh you must try it! Don’t let my meager experience dissuade you!

Interesting note about the prequels, a shame he didn’t use that extra time to make them better, lol!

Lol, something like that I guess!

Shave #93:

Second day in a row of using the Feather AC SS as my only razor in-shave. Today would have been my normal SR/shavette only day anyway, it being Saturday.

Stuck with the TOBS Sandalwood. You only need so little of this stuff for a full 3 pass shave, it’s hard to see any progress being made in emptying the tub lol. I even used a bit more than is needed. All good though, the RR Big Bruce can hold a ton of product, and it makes for a nice lather soak post-shave.

Allergies we’re getting to me a little this morning and combined with the ATG pass, made the skin a little sensitive. I finished off with RR The Stallion AS splash, which has a good dose of alcohol, needless to say it smelled great but burned for a minute.

BBS in the cheeks, DFS on the jaw, CCS on the lip areas and chin, though the chin does feel a little closer than yesterday (and more sensitive because of how long I spent on it).

I expect a busy day today at work, besides prepping the campus for church tomorrow, there is a memorial service and reception today, and also a musical recital and reception. If things go smoothly though, I can still make it out on time and have somewhat of an evening!

Happy Saturday all.

Da-da dun dun dun...another shave in the books-ah!

nice shave Chris...love the FM gif!!
Great shave.

Thanks guys!

Random thoughts update:

- If Joe’s predictions are right, the next batch of Game Changers should be coming out some time this week! Totally hoping I can snag one with a Barber Pole handle!

- Also craving a different soap for tomorrow’s shave, just cause it’s Sunday...and I need to break up the TOBS Sandalwood use a bit. I actually pondered it off and on the last couple of hours of my work shift, lol...is that bad? I think I narrowed it down to either Sudsy Soapery: Citrus & Bay or Scheermonnik: Delfts Wit...both are just different enough to satisfy...hmm choices...

Shave #94:

3 pass shave today. I ended up opting for the Delfts Wit in all its smokey, vanilla goodness. The Fatboy was also staring at me this morning so I took it in along with the Feather SS.

Delfts Wit treated me decently this shave. I think I may have slicked it up a bit too much. It held the water just fine but felt a little less protective than my last use. Still ultra slick though. And the scent, so nice, stayed with me throughout the entire shave.

Feather SS performed well. It was a little tuggy on the upper lip and I had my normal chin troubles, but no cuts otherwise. I tried stropping it a bit on a microfiber cloth after to hopefully improve the edge some for next time.

The Fatboy was just used for the ATG. I tried a Rapira blade for the first time today, it was not impressive. The packaging is nice, it comes double wrapped in paper outer cover and wax paper inner, with only a small glue dot. The edge felt really harsh though, even in my very smooth Fatboy. It did cause some irritation on the upper lip. I’ll give it a few more shaves to see if it mellow/smooths out.

Shave turned out complete BBS all over, so overall success!

The missus arrived back safe and sound yesterday after her overnight ministry retreat. We were sans kids so we had a quick bite out and I took her to see Avengers (my second time, her first) and made a date night out of it.

Today is church, a few ministry meetings, and picking the kids back up from the grandparents. It’ll be a helluv hot day (supposed to reach nearly 100) but a filling day in many ways.

Ya’ll have a great Sunday!

nice one Chris...interesting on the Rapira. It might need another shave or so to calm down and smooth out.

It's interesting to see which blades work for who. Rapira blades (depending on which one you have...there are several of them) are often highly regarded, but there are those who don't care for them. I like the stainless and the and the Platinum Lux. I have yet to try the Swedish Steel. Great shave!

Wow a lot going on here. Getting caught up from over the weekend. Good stuff.
