Solid weekend man! Good stuff!

Duuuuuude! I totally remember having a bottle of that back in high school! Loved it! Are they still making it or did you find that somewhere?
I picked up this bottle probably 7 or so years ago (it was buried in a box and rediscovered last week while reorganizing the master bath!) but it's definitely still around. I saw it at Ross a couple weeks ago at ~$10 for the 50mL and also super cheap at the discounters, think like $15 for the 100mL. Don't know if it's been reformulated or anything but to my nose reminds me exactly of what I remember back in 2000 attending my first "roller skating party" where most boys applied half a bottle of this stuff before asking the girls to hold hands and skate in circles :ROFLMAO:

Lunchtime shave today had me feeling for more of a barbershop scent as I'm getting the dome trimmed after work today. The PAA Sundown set never disappoints.

Had some much needed rain fall in our area the last 24 hours, and thankfully the tornados stayed north of us this time around. Still only half an inch the past 7 days but it's better than nothing. Crazy heat today but should break tonight and the rest of the outlook looks more pleasant.

Approaching the end of this tub of CC Nor'easter. Great performance and perfect scent for the summertime. Still on the fence if I'll replace this one in the future as I think the Seaforth Sea Spice Lime checks all the same summertime scent boxes and has better post-shave feel. Chased with Coconut Water and Grey Flannel, the latter of which I love more and more each time I spray it on!

Hump Dayyyyy! More storms last night and this morning, thankfully no tornados anywhere this time around. Wind gusts of 70mph are nothing to sneeze at, though!

Feeling "blue" with this morning's shave. Rope Swing was my first soap from Summer Break and I continue to be impressed by its performance. Between this soap and Seaforth Sea Spice Lime, I can confidently say that I won't be replacing my tub of CC Nor'easter for the time being. Chased with AV Ice Blue and Classic Match Blue and I'm ready for another day of 90+ degrees here!

Today is officially my Friday as I'm on PTO tomorrow! The heat is supposed to break tonight too which is great since we're taking the little guy to the zoo with my parents. Should be a great way to spend the morning! Don't have much else on the radar this weekend, so I'm sure we'll spend a lot of time working on small projects here and there around the house. Hopefully will hit up the neighborhood pool too as long as it doesn't rain. Went to IKEA last night after work and my son had his first IKEA Swedish meatball meal. He's a little carnivore and loved it! My wife had never eaten there either - guess that was something I did before we were married.

Great shave with the LEA shave stick this morning. Chased with Skin Bracer then Nautica Voyage. Feeling nice and fresh for what is hopefully the last oppressively hot day for a little bit!

Enjoy your time off!

I'm jealous - as far as meat goes, there is Kobe beef, Philly Cheesesteaks, and Ikea Swedish Meatballs as the top 3!

Happy Monday, Cadre!

It was a great long weekend over here in the Illini house. Thursday night was the Field of Dreams game between my White Sox and the Yankees. I'm not normally an emotional guy, but I had some moisture well up in my eyes and goosebumps during the beginning of the game when the players walked out of the corn. My son is still a little too young to really appreciate baseball but he was in the family room playing with his Tonka truck during the intro and everything just felt right. One of those special moments you don't anticipate but never forget.

Friday I took off of work and we went with my parents to the Zoo. They hadn't been with my son before (we have a family pass) and it was a great time. The heat finally broke overnight Thursday so although still warm it was much more of a pleasant visit than it would have been any other day that week.

Saturday was a family day, took a long walk in the morning then went to the pool in the late afternoon after my son's second nap. The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend end-to-end. Yesterday we spent the day getting our master bathroom ready for a shower renovation occurring this week. While the majority of the master bath was updated just a few years ago, the shower and toilet are in a separate little space and the shower hasn't been touched since the house was built in 1991. Have a local guy coming in to install a new base and re-tile everything, as well as potentially raise the ceiling above the shower (it's randomly dropped and we don't think there's anything HVAC, electrical, etc. in there) as well as replace the old shower valve and raise the shower head. Fairly confident I could handle everything except the soldering of new pipes but in the amount of time it would take me just to demo everything, the neighborhood guy and his plumber will have the entire thing completed for a very reasonable cost.

Skipped Saturday's shave but Friday and Sunday were both nice and cold. I ran a couple sprinklers this morning and it felt more like autumn outside than summer, putting me in a nice spicy mood for this morning's shave. I love the summer and will be sad when it's over, but there's just something super special about autumn. I cannot wait to take my son to the local pumpkin patch and introduce him to some of my favorite autumnal activities! Guess you can just call me a basic bitch sans the pumpkin spice lattes (can't stand those!)

Day 1 of the shower remodel went well - there is a small plumbing vent pipe in the drop ceiling but it's basically against the wall so we'll be able to raise around 75% of the existing drop ceiling to match the rest of the room. That'll be very nice! Plumber came by this morning and installed the new shower valve as well as raised the shower head up 6ish inches which will be much appreciated by my 6'2" self!

Unfortunately I forgot to grab my shaving brushes and splashes out of our storage cabinet which is now taped and sealed up in tarps, so I'll be running with the same post shave and brush until the shower is done. No worries, I love both Thayer's Coconut Water and my Whipped Dog high mountain gelly tips!

Great cool shave with Nor'easter this morning and chased with the aforementioned Coconut Water as well as my MJ EdC. This old 50mL bottle is going to go quick and it will most definitely be replaced with a larger one when depleted!

You're going to love 3017ing, Ryan. May even make a convert of you. ;)
Believe it or not, I was an avid 3017'r from about 2016-2020. Never on the hardware side, but on the soap/cream side, and mainly to help reduce my massively accumulated stash of them. I had whittled it down to 5 or so by 2019 but it has slowly crept back up to 20 per my tracking. I might have to pick that mindset back up in the not-too-distanced future!

Glad the remodel is so far so good! I wish my shower head were higher in this current rental…it’s at about 5’4”…I mean good grief…I gotta break my neck just to wet my hair 🤨
