Fluffy's Curmudgeon Corner

The board is set. The pieces are moving. The battle for DR 34 has begun.
Mom nature has opened her attack with light snow at 0815.
DR 34 SITREP
Perimeter secure.
Truck #0090: operational
Crew: operational
Road conditions: clear/wet
Enemy disposition: light probing attacks expected for the next 12-18 hours.
Per unit SOP a Thunder Run mission will set out from HQ at approximately 1300 hrs to re-apply primary snow melting weapons along the entire perimeter.
AAR to follow
I just had a flashback to my Marine Corps days having to give SMEAC reports...

Situation
Mission
Execution
Administration and Logistics
Command and Signals

Enemy Disposition- Moderate intensity probing of defenses. Light weapons disorganized tactics. Avoids direct engagement
You've got it on the run, Ken. However, I think you scared the storm right out of Maryland, and into Pittsburgh. Could you maybe redirect your efforts to push the storm towards, say, Philadelphia? No one here cares about Philly, after all, except for their cheesesteak sandwiches.

DR#34 AAR
Truck#0090 Operational
Crew-Operational
After approximately 49hrs of contact with the enemy. During which no casualties and only minor damage to allied combat vehicles was sustained. The enemy has retreated to the north.
Unfortunately several civilian mailbox casualties were reported. A short inquisition was opened and all personnel were cleared of any wrong doing.
Perimeter being secured. HQ ordered all personal and vehicles to their RP’s in advance of SOP RRR protocols.
The following personnel are recommended for the Silver Snow Plow Medal
Pickup Driver, Club Soda Kenny. After his plow sustained combat damage. At night and in spite continuous enemy harassment. He quickly repaired it and rejoined the conflict. Displaying extreme resourcefulness and esprit de corps.
Dump truck driver Fluffy is also recommended for the Bronze Plow Medal . Cause he had spare bolts and a crescent wrench already in his vehicle so Club Soda Kenny didn’t have to go all the way back to the shop to fix his plow.

Well done, Sir! The best defense against an intrusion such as you encountered is a strong, sustained offensive attack. (y) (y)

Thanks Chris. Montana Bob was a indeed one cool dude. Funny, stubborn, contrarian. If he was your friend. You could count on him for anything. If he didn't like you. Then he made it his mission to make you miserable. Like a non-stop pledge week for a childish fraternity. They thought it would be punishment putting him with me on the route in a pickup. My goodness how they got that wrong. We had so much fun. I could always count on him to get things done. And help me in whatever psychological warfare operation we cooked up. The first storm I had to push without Montana Bob. I saw that sock monkey on the side of the road. And I thought of all the funny/stupid things he would say about it. So of course. I had turn around and get it. Cleaned him up and now he's a permanent fixture in my dump truck. So you see at 0400 in the middle of a storm. I'm not bouncing around talking to myself. I'm talking to Bob.
