Tonight's shave was nice. I tried the Dragonsbeard Soap that @Patelliott sent me.
The soap is a very nice base. I can see why everyone likes it. The scent that my nose really picks up is the rose part. I plan on using it again. But at first use I will say I'd be looking at the other scents that he makes.
The Old Double Arrow 66 got the call today. One of my few round points,
Finished off the shave with Clubman Vanilla.0356E349-C942-4D0B-84E7-C67FAA36469A.jpeg

There is one more in there from Frank. This base is actually Oleo's base though and not his own. I pick up the Oud, Sandalwood, and Vanilla more than anything. I honestly didn't know there was rose in it until you said something. Nice post Ken!

Tonight's Shave kind of continues my recent "back to basics" theme. With a newly invented by me soap strategy. The "1508.5" Due to my recent struggles with 3017'ing a soap.
Every other shave will be with my Tonsorial Insurgent soap. Leaving flexibility in the other shaves to indulge in my ADSD.
The basic 5/8 square point "Chesapeake" razor. From the Charles R. Coates barber supply in Baltimore. Is a sub $20 shipped ebay score. In NOS condition. And a textbook un-named manufacturer of very high quality. In both steel and craftsmanship.
Boar brush (Omega) and Tabac AS finish out the budget priced shave with aplomb.C08E55EA-33B7-4819-9F67-5FB0EEBFCCE3.jpeg

Ken this approach sounds doable. I'll watch how it goes from a distance and join if you can make a go of it.

Nice relaxing day today. While the wife was upstairs. I decided to break out the hones and put an edge on my new to me. Keen Kutter Royal. And on @Patelliott 's two razors.
The Royal needed a little polishing on the back of the blade and on the spine. Couldn't do much on the show side as of the etch and gold plate. While I had the polish out one of pat's got a little shine action as well.
Pat your DD and Fromm only needed a retouch. One got finished on the Translucent Arkansas. And the other got the Shogun treatment. I'll let you try both. Then let you know after which was which.
Sorry but tonight will be the test shave on the Royal Pat;) Friday and Saturday will be your two. So even if they need some more fine tuning. They should be headed back your way on Tuesday.

Tonight's Shave was kick ass. Not often, less than a Jackson shipped will get you a razor this nice. Etch is in fair shape. No hone wear. Even has most of the paint in the scale embossing.
Now only if it came shave ready... Oh well I know a guy who thinks he can hone. Even if is he is a wanker.
Thanks again to @Patelliott for the sample of Ethos Success. Yes sir. Nice soap. Very pineapple forward Aventus scent. Like it a lot. Applied with the butterfly kisses, soft Cashmere brush.
The Tabac Man complements it (Ethos Success) well.
No complaints. Only smiles. Hope all of you guys had a good Thursday. Bring on the holiday weekend.

That is my favorite soap base. When Frank re-releases Dragonsbeard he is going to tweak that base a bit too so I am excited about that one. I'm glad you liked it!

All Caught up, nice shaves, Nice Razors, and Honing.... Life is Grand. Nice work!

Thanks Pat, Chris and Dave. I enjoy all of your journals and Chris and Dave's Vids. Hope your Fridays all go well. It's rainy here.
