Fluffy's Curmudgeon Corner

One last razor? Keep telling yourself that. ;) Love my Hayashi Diamond. Love all my Japanese straights. You'll have to post up pics.

Yup, I’m down to just DE and SR now. I may shed a few more razors before I’m done. After my Yaqi brush comes in, I’ll be set on brushes. And I have a solid soap/AS rotation. So I’m pretty sure I have all my acquisition disorders in check

I got an email from PAA this morning, and didn't end up buying anything. I looked, but didn't buy. Small victories, I guess!

Indeed. PAA is part of my rotation, so I will buy refills.

Today’s shave. A very nice affair. With long time items in my shave den.

The Tabac soap is always enjoyable to use. Sometimes I think with all the artisan soaps we have to choose from. This soap gets pushed out of the picture. When I do go back to it. It puts a smile on my face.

Tonight's shave is sponsored by @Patelliott . Packed in with the razors destined to be transformed into Shogun tools of whisker removal. Was 10 samples of soaps. Watch out @Dave in KY . You have a young upstart competitor in the soap sample enabler Olympics. He told me he would be sending some up. But the flavors were unknown to me until I unboxed them.
One of which was tonight's soap. This one has quite a following here. And I was keen to give it a go. Ghost Town Barber.
If you have no interest in what I think. Or tender sensibilities then do not read below the pic.

While the soap base was adequate. I was a little disappointed with the scent. It's nice but to my nose there is too much powder smell going on. More like Ghost Town Day Care Center.
Powdery smells are almost as big a no no for me as patchouli. Sorry if this upsets anyone. But I will not be joining the GTB Club.
But many thanks to Pat for sending it up for me to try. As I was very curious to try it. After so many of you like it so much.
Hope everyones Monday went well.

Well darn. Sorry @Dave in KY I tried. That is crazy how you get a powdery smell from it because I get a dry scent from it. Just goes to show how much of this is entirely preference. The base is not really all that, but for me it was the scent that sold me on it. Hopefully there are some other ones in there that you'll like!

Yea Pat there are couple that smell real good to my nose. And the Ethos ones are very nice and everyone raves about performance. Looking forward to the next week and half of shaves.
Thanks again. And tomorrow I'll be doing some honing. ;)

Sounds good Ken! I'm really curious to see what you think of the original Dragonsbeard.
