Fluffy's Curmudgeon Corner

Tonight's shave was very nice. After reading about @Dave in KY 's troubles with his M&M soap. I had to break out one of mine. Wanted to compare back to back M&M's take on Aventis with the Ethos Success version. Both are nice. Both perform well. Would be hard to pick a winner. And I don't think you could go wrong with either one. And yes my soap has also developed little flecks/granules. It doesn't effect the performance. And I don't plan on 86ing the soap. My Wholly Kaw soap has done this as well. Never really gave it much thought. Not as particular as Dave I guess
Revisited the translucent Arkansas with the Keen Kutter Royal. While the first edge I put on it was nice. I felt that I could squeeze a bit more Keenness out of it. ;)
Now I can truly say that the Royal is in fact a Keen Kutter. I refilled my vintage glass Old Spice bottle. With current production juice that's branded "Classic" formula. It's ok. Not as powdery initially. But on dry down not as good as the made in India version. Oh well at a $1 an ounce. Not that big a deal. When WCS has the other back in stock I'll get some more. Or may get some of the Dollar store brand. And see what that's like.

Tomorrow we are back to normal at work. Full crew with all the BS that's involved with that. Been over a month. God knows what the hell will happen. Hope everyone had a good holiday.

Tonight's shave was nice. Tried the Mystic Waters Leather and Smoke. That @Patelliott sent me. Very nice scent. And it's performance is nice. They are officially on my radar. Others are on my buy list ahead though. When I empty my tub of CBL Insurgent. My reward will be Nuavia Rossa.
The Keen Kutter Royal being my most recent addition to the collection got another go. It's a peach. Everything you could want in a 5/8ths extra hollow razor. Tomorrow at noon we'll se if I win another razor. Fingers crossed as It's real clean. And has fancy scales. Might get sniped. But have put what It is worth to me. I am going to spay and neuter the neighbor pets. As a offering to Bob Barker for help getting the Price Right.
Got a few videos to watch. My pic is in Black and white. Most of the items would have been photographed this way when new. Plus it's an attempt to be artsy for the SOTD theme.
Hope you all had a great day.

If you get sniped, it wasn’t me. Good read!
No worries Tim. If I were to get sniped. If it was someone here it would be better than some uninitiated outsider.
Honestly I only found it and bid on it out of boredom. Corona Virus spare time. The Royal was such a great deal. I fell off my RAD anonymous wagon. Had to turn in my chips and double up on my meetings.

Hope you win the bid! Rossa sounds like a great reward!

Thanks Chris truly time will tell. :) On the razor. And the Nuavia Rossa treat for myself is that extra bit of motivation to stick to my CBL Insurgent Tonsorial 1508.5 I'll be replacing a very good soap with another top notch soap. The scent of the Rossa is for me just so dang skippy. My goal is wind up eventually with my full rotation of soaps being enjoyable in both scent and performance.

This is one reason I stick with proven winners, occasionally venturing out to try something new. I know, trust, and love the soaps that I use. I never am left wondering if the soap I used was sub par.

Yea Bruce. That will be my M.O. going forward. Getting in on the soap sample pass around. As well as people like @Dave in KY and @Patelliott having my address and sending me their samples. Has my list of future soap purchases expanded. The ones on the list now being ones I have used and fully enjoyed. So now the competition has now gotten to the point where even very good soaps like my CBL Tonsorial Insurgent. Are being replaced. because for me the performance I really like. But the scent is just nice. Not a knock on the soap at all. Just an acknowledgement that the smorgasbord of samples resulted in finding a few soaps that edged out these. I couldn’t do a turd soap challenge like @BarberDave is presently doing. Those have all been purged in form of bath soap or pif’s to people I don’t really like 😁.
