Today I was pretty excited to try out the Noble Otter soap I bought. This one is my first floral scented soap, but I got it because I was told it would be more of a cologne type scent. Out of the tub the Rose is very prominent. Wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I decided to wait until after I started to lather it before I made a decision.

Lather was really good. It is very slick, so much that I had to keep wiping my hands when I was using my razor, and the lather was more dense than thick. Also once lathered the Oud and Sandalwood started to become more noticable and the scent was very pleasing. I went with my normal 2 pass shave and came away DFS. I was running late so I didn't have enough time to buff out some areas of my neck.

The aftershave felt really nice when I applied it and my face felt really good once it dried. However, the aftershave was also very rose forward and that reminded me of an older lady's perfume. My wife smelled it and she said that she didn't get that impression, but she really liked it. After about 10 minutes I started to smell the other notes, but that first initial whiff really reminded me of my grandma's perfume. My wife likes it so I'll continue using it, but I don't know if this will be a soap I always have to have.

Homefront:

My FIL and I did not finish the guest room yesterday, but I think we got enough done that the April deadline is still realistic. My wife and her mom went to the baby appointment yesterday so that I could work on the house and so far so good. Little man has enough fluid and he is still his stubborn self. The sonogram tech and him are not fans of one another, but eventually they were able to get pictures of him. They estimate that he weighs about 4 pounds so 8 more weeks of growing for him.

Thanks for reading Cadre and I hope y'all have a great day!

Bummer the buy didn’t quite work out as hoped. At least it’s bearable. It’s hard not to make a snap judgment on some fragrances right away, especially ones that take a while to reveal themselves, cause then you’re left wondering if it’s still worth going through the first half of the dry down to enjoy the second. :ROFLMAO:

Exactly. Luckily my wife really likes it so I'll continue to use it. It just didn't appeal to me like PdP No. 63 or GTB.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Jack Black's Face Buff
Razor: Rockwell 6C Plate #4
Blade: Personna Super
Brush: Yaqi Rainbow Synthetic
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: CBL Premium Soap: Iron Throne
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Stirling Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Aloe & Stirling Bay Rum
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Results:

Great shave today. I don't know what I did differently, but the lather I got from Iron Throne was awesome! It was super slick and had a great cushion. Multiple passes and very little feedback from the alum.
There are still some blades that I want to try, but so far I think the Personna blade that Tim sent me is my favorite of the ones I have tried. It is not overly aggressive, but it is still sharp enough to cut right through the whiskers.
Also, those of you that have used Iron Throne, which aftershave do y'all pair with it? I like the Stirling Bay Rum balm, but it is more clove heavy than Iron Throne so I feel it doesn't pair as well.
Lastly, those of you who participate in the video shaves, how do y'all record them? What's y'alls set up? I've viewed most of the ones on the forum and y'all do a really great job so I was just curious what y'alls set up is.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have/had a good day! Stay safe out there with all this stuff going on.

Most record on their phones and have a cheapie mount of some kind. I use iPhone XS and have it propped on a towel rack. Gets edited in iMovie then popped over to YouTube.

I use a Samsung tablet. Upload to youtube and post the link in the thread. No editing for me.

Thank y'all! I will give that a look a little later.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & Jack Black's Face Buff
Razor: Dovo BQ 5/8
Blade:
Brush: AP Shave Co. Ruby SynBad
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: Poraso Green
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Thayers Concoction & Skin Bracer
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Results:

Very late shave today/tonight. I wanted to go with a relaxing shave since I was shaving before bed so Poraso Green got the nod. It has a nice cooling feel and my Thayers Concoction has Lavender EO in it and is nice and calming. The Dovo did great tonight, but I am thinking it is getting time to hone it. The alum gave me quite a bit of feedback. All in all it was a great DFS+.

Homefront:

Worked 68 hours this past week and starting tomorrow I am looking at another 60+. I feel bad complaining about working that much with people across the country being out of work, but it has been draining. Working on the house has slowed down and now my wife is stressing out about it getting done before the baby arrives. First confirmed case in Grayson County was just announced, but we knew it was just a matter of time before it got to us. Y'all have been a great outlet to decompress and distract myself with all the craziness going on.

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all have a great week! Stay safe out there!

I bought a bottle of Thayers at Target and it had Witch Hazel and Aloe in it, but I also added lavender and peppermint EO. So instead of listing all of that I just call it the Thayers Concoction.
Sounds great! Was it a specific scent?
