Down in the Heart of Texas!

The soap base is pretty nice, the scents didn’t grab me though. They’re a bit muddled.

Honestly I didn't look at all of their scent selections. Same with Wholly Kaw. There were a few that looked or sounded interesting and so those are the ones I read up on. So far Teritus, Grecian Horse, and Revolution are the ones that peaked my interest the most. Revolution is not even listed anymore though.

Pre-shave: Hot Shower & PAA Cube 2.0
Razor: Gillette Fatboy
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: WCS Honeycomb Badger
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: B&M- Leviathan
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Stirling Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Aloe splash & Maggard- Leather and Tobacco splash
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream & Hyaluronic Serum drops

Decided to use the Fatboy today on setting 4 with the GSB. I like this combination in the Fatboy, but I have two other blades on the way that I want to try out before I make a final decision. The Cube 2.0 is pretty darn slick. I like it a lot, but the final test will be when I use TOBS. If it increases the slickness of that soap then I will say it is a winner. The soap sample was provided by the Shogun™️ legend himself @Maryland998. The performance of this soap is of the same top notch quality of their Excelsior base soaps. The scent was a little different than I was anticipating. I definitely got the leather, but I didn't know if the other note I was smelling was the coffee or cedar. It smelled almost like cumin to me, but it was a nice scent for colder weather. I can definitely see this being a solid scent in the fall or winter.
I bought some Hyaluronic Acid on a recommendation and I have to say this stuff is pretty great. I can definitely feel my face feeling a lot more fresh and hydrated. I can't wait for Frank's HA Serum (Name TBA) now.

Homefront:

Little man and SWMBO are doing great. Not getting a whole lot of sleep, but that's okay. I'll just make sure he is up at 5:00 every morning when he is a teenager. He is just shy of 9 pounds now so he is starting to get a little chunky!

Thanks for reading Cadre, and I hope y'all are having a great weekend!

I have the puck. It isn't bad, but I can't say it is as slick as some of my other soaps, so of the pre-shave Cube does what it is marketed to do, then it should enhance the slickness quite a bit.

Razor: Rockwell 6C
Blade: Voskhod (2)
Brush: Sorrentino AoG PIF #5 Synthetic
Bowl: PAA Scuttle
Soap: LNHC- Haute Leather
Aftershave: Osma Alum & Stirling Tea Tree, Witch Hazel, Aloe splash & Old Spice splash
Moisturizer: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream & Hyaluronic Serum drops

Great afternoon shave. I wanted to go with something a little darker in scent because it has been storming and raining the past few days. Ken sent this sample to me and although it was not what I expected it was still a nice scent. I got a little bit of the leather, but what I kept smelling was cinnamon oil. I looked up the scent notes and there was not any cinnamon listed, so I have no idea what I was smelling. All I could think of while using it was gingerbread men. Performance was off the charts and although I do believe Lisa's soaps are wonderful, I do think the PAA Cube is starting to be more noticeable. A great shave and I am glad I have a few more shaves out of this sample before I make my final decision on it. Thanks again @Maryland998 for including this one!

Great shave this afternoon and I can now comfortably say that the PAA Cube does work. TOBS was never a rough shave by any means, but the lather I got from it was not as good as a Stirling soap. However with the help from the PAA Cube this soap is as slick and protective as a Stirling soap with a very comparable residual slickness. I love the scent of this soap and I am really happy that I will be using it more often now.
Went with a 3 pass shave with the 6C and Voskhod which is starting to become a really enjoyable combo. I think Voskhod blades will take Astra's spot in my den. Anyway I am BBS and smelling great!

Thanks for reading Cadre and I hope y'all had a good day!

I've always been skeptical of not only the Cube, but also every other pre-shave products. I occasionally use Proraso pre-shave, but that's literally to provide a physical barrier to protect my face from soaps I know irritate me, and no other reason. Maybe I'll have to try the Cube out someday to boost some of my lesser soaps.

I have never really got into pre-shave products before this. I used to use Jack Black's exfoliating face wash, but Dave said he would advise against that. The way I got the Cube 2.0 was similar to one of Chad's recent purchases. I will admit that it has worked out pretty darn well.
