Shave Quality
BBS in two passes with little residual irritation. Everything clicked this morning. The lather was great. The blade was sharp. My angle was good. It was a fabulous Friday shave.
Gear
I am not sure why
@Cvargo got ripped up as badly as he did by this blade. It works great for me. But, I guess that is why YMMV seems to be the rule of wetshaving. I suppose he could have had a bum blade, or something. Whatever the reason, it works for me.
The APR Florian made for a really great lather. It was slick and protective during the shave and my face feels smooth and soft afterwards. The scent is a very nice fougere with some citrus in it that my face really liked. Very good soap.
Other Thoughts
There are lots of things that are good to have around for straight razor maintenance. Currently I am looking at stop pastes. I am thinking that I will go with the green and red polishing rouges, but diamond pastes and sprays are attractive. The old-school rouges as much cheaper, however. The diamond pastes are more popular, but I am not totally sure why. Is it the availability of finer grits?
Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
